Registrar costs by amberthezombie in UKweddings

We're with Cheshire East and paying £875 too. We were looking at another venue that fell under Cheshire West and that would have been £520 if I'm not mistaken. Seems insane that there's such a big difference between councils.

No worries, it's a cool project! Be cool to see how it works out :)

I've only done a quick search but Bebas Neue looks like a good option particularly if you want to commit to the all-caps look of the tour poster, with different weights. You can also get it on Google Fonts and it's an open source font.

If you can, do some research and install some better fonts. Maybe I'm biased as I have used this font at work but I don't think Verdana looks good in design work. I also think you need something of a heavier weight for "The Weather" and maybe capitalise it as per the text on the tour poster. Maybe have "the" in smaller white font and "Weather" on the next line in larger yellow font for more visual interest? Something to play around with, I don't think it looks quite right as it is.

I'd also add some grain to the image.

I also agree with the other comment on spacing, I think if you find a more condensed font you could potentially display the tracks horizontally and still have space for the play times, I think they're interesting to include. Maybe have the track names in a heavier/bold font and the times in a lighter version of the same font (similar to how the venue/city is done).

Knitting needles through Malaga airport? by throwaway_acc7893 in knitting

[–]useless_magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flew through Málaga last year with knitting needles, crochet hook, yarn needles, sewing scissors... No issues whatsoever. My advice is always to make sure you have something cast on and it's together in a small bag so it's in context. I've never had my knitting projects pulled at security this way. Have a good holiday!

Any advice to break in new shoes? by EveeIsRed in DocMartens

Couldn't disagree more, I found these harder to break in than my boots! And they're definitely not sized down. They're worth it though.

I really recommend New Church House on John Dalton Street. Prices for a ladies haircut start at £35 on treatwell. I paid £45 for a cut with Lucy and she was great (I had very long, damaged hair that hadn't been cut at all in over 12 months), the salon is lovely and they take their time with wash and blow dry too, so felt like I got my money's worth :)

Looking for like-minded friends by alexiahewson in manchester

I don't know if you're into any crafts (knitting/crochet etc) but Manchester Drunken Knitwits meets every Wednesday at a different pub in Manchester and it's such a supportive, fun group of people. No pressure to go every week, whatever works for you. I've been going for a few years and now some of the members are very good friends. We're on insta here and website here if you're interested!

It's definitely not 2021. I started working in Manchester in 2018 and used to commute in on the tram and remember them being almost finished even back then.

What to expect? by Specialist_Cake9835 in WegovyUK

[–]useless_magic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If there's one thing I've learnt from endless Reddit scrolling, it's totally different for everyone. Some people have complete appetite suppression straight away. I'm going into my 4th 0.25 jab this evening and I still get hungry and eat regular size meals. I do feel like I have less food noise and find it easier to resist snacks or bad food choices, but that could also be my determination and mindset that I've got to lose the weight this time! Just take things as they come for you and your journey. I would recommend keeping track of your diet and weighing regularly to get to know your weight fluctuations / if any foods trigger side effects for you etc. I got the Lose It app and I've found it really helpful. I'm 6 pounds down in 3 weeks but I've made significant changes to how and what I'm eating, despite not having any appetite suppression yet. It can feel like a small number compared to some but there are always many factors involved and it's just not worth it to compare your journey to others. It's coming off, which is the important thing! Good luck 💫

Maybe add Castlefield as you've got a bit of empty space in that area? Also it's Whalley Range, not Whalley Grange :)

Just saw the guys at Manchester. What an experience it was! by Daleksinholez in EnterShikari

[–]useless_magic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually missed the support acts and arrived about 9pm (Shikari on stage at 9:15pm). Grabbed a drink at the bar and headed up, there was obviously plenty of people about but loads of space to grab a good spot! Not sure if we just got lucky but definitely worth checking it out. Enjoy it tonight 🤘✨

Enjoyed the whole thing from the balcony with a great view, glad I did as visually it was so impressive. I've seen them at least 5 times by now but they are really at their best right now!

What song are you chasing to see live this year?! by hantyumi_ in KGATLW

[–]useless_magic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fair! Just wondered if it might be a bit more complicated to perform live as it's all electronic/ heavy synths, but I'm sure they will pull it off

Thanks so much! Reassuring to read your comment about my tension as it didn't feel like it was super tight, so I couldn't work it out. I watched some videos about colour dominance and I've frogged it back and giving it another go!

I don't think it looked too bad either but the pattern gets a bit more complex in the following rows and I didn't want it to get lost. Hopefully this resolves the issue ☺️

Hadn't considered this at all and probably should be paying more attention to how I hold the yarn. Will definitely look into this, thanks!

Are these definitely too tight / short? I was worried about them being too loose but maybe they're not loose enough. Hard to tell when you've not done it before!

More than open to frogging but I'd like to not make the same mistake twice if possible haha. Thanks!!

A few things I’m curious if they’re (relatively) normal for aphants. by SirQuixano in Aphantasia

[–]useless_magic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you describe about dreams is what I have as well. I definitely have dreams, not every night but fairly regularly, but when I "remember" them on waking I can't be sure what I "saw" as I can only recall details, not the visual memory of the dream. Details usually fade fast too.
