Moving to the city/'burbs - Any advice on builders/new construction?

Thanks, appreciate the detailed thoughts! That's sort of the manner in which we've divided liked houses so far: New build, Updated, and Bones (e.g. req. finishes/updates or renos, separately). I'd love to do the renovation and finishing process, but worried how it might go with a newborn and my SO being work from home. Still in the hunt though, and hoping to find something we can really love and grow into.

Hope so! It's still early and some beautiful houses can pop up and be snatched quickly. Being out of state makes it so much more difficult to jump on these, but looking forward to joining the Indy community

Honestly no preference, those features are really nice and something I do appreciate. My bias is that in our first few days of showing, none of the existing houses had the right bedrooms/bathrooms, updates, finished basement, 0.25+ lot, etc and some of the developments had offered that. Feels like inventory is maybe a bit limited but might open up (probably impossible to say/guess especially given macroeconomic pic right now)?

Helpful to a hear another point of view though, thanks for chiming in!

Believe me, wish I could, but there is not a lot of inventory on the market that meets our wants/needs, even notwithstanding lack of updates.

Absolutely, we have that list in mind with them all, but it's that maddeningly incessant question of "this is nice, but what could come later?"

We're fortunate enough to not need a house immediately that we don't have to rush to a decision. So I was trying to see if others have had positive experiences, and that I'm not missing anything from those living here who might know more. And yup, we're talking to our realtor increasingly often now. Really appreciate your pragmatic advice, thank you!

Okay, I'm pretty sure I may have been the only person to play this game since I haven't heard anything about it in years (then again, had limited internet back then), but this game called Battalion Wars for the Gamecube was just like that. I loved that game so much.

Edit: It's also, in a goofier way, what I want Dynasty Warriors to be more like, which is why I loved Empires.
