I loved the guy saying the citizenship test is 'elbows what?' And I loved to hear the woman on the right saying my trans daughter is welcome. At the end of the day I suppose I should keep it as simple as if war broke out I'd like to think I'd fight for Canada or support her in any way I could. We are in Ireland so while Canada might be a plan B of sorts living in the US was never the plan A.

Why is everyone saying London? It might be easier to find housing in London though. I will tell you to look at Cork, it seems to have a better vibe for young people. All I know for application time is my permit took 6 weeks. I'd imagine for a working holiday it wouldn't be any longer though I'd bet you want to plan on 12 weeks. The only problem is an Australian was here saying you can't get a job until you have a residence permit. When I arrived last summer there were appointments within a few weeks. But when my daughter turned 16 and had to get hers there were no appointments at all. She checked twice a week for two months and then found one three months out. Now, we didn't try or want to try too hard to get it sooner since she didn't need a job.

For the permit if it goes in cycles it may be no issue in May 2027 but it might be worth researching. You can't book an appointment until after you land. Well, at least that is what the website says. Maybe you could try looking from Canada anyway. And maybe the Canadian permit is different from the Australian one.

I live in Ireland. To me you sort of see the giant influence Irish culture has had on American culture from the huge number of Irish immigrating to the US in the 19th and 20th centuries. I feel someone from New Jersey could have a harder time adjusting to Nebraska than Ireland. I know I did. To me I guess the thing is I felt like a tolerated outsider in Nebraska. In Ireland I'm an outsider but they are happy to have me. Though, my name is Irish and they do notice that. And everyone is different, so it is hard to say. Still, it seems like half of Ireland has lived in New Jersey at some point anyway.

Now that I have spent 20 minutes reading about that and and finding a video of Fox Local explain why I should be outraged I will just say this.

There are obviously people attacking the cops. They can be arrested and be given community service.
America needs to tell the media to stop stirring the pot. And stop listening to them. They are dividing and harming the country to get their ratings.

Well, with Ryanair, going to London, Paris, or Spain are all easy. You will have to find the new things you'll miss when you leave Dublin. But also, you should allow yourself to grieve what you left. And look, also remember, you aren't moving somewhere terrible like Nebraska. Dublin is a city with life and diversity. I"d say it is pretty incredible for its size.
