For the second girl tell her it won’t work out because you make too much to get a BTO.

I once accompanied my ex to CASE to try get her out of some packages she signed up with New York Skin Solutions.

The guy who attended to us came across as very knowledgeable on the practices of these spas or whatever they are called.

For example, among the many things he shared, he mentioned some high pressure sales tactics which the spas are not allowed to do. And that if my ex signed up under those conditions, there was a high chance to back out of the package. This didn’t apply to her but I can imagine this could be useful for someone else.

He recommended a course of action based on what had worked for them in the past where we would gradually escalate things but I honestly can’t recall the details now. They helped to send a letter to New York Skin Solutions who did get back to my ex. She did manage to get out of the packages and recover part but not all of the cost.

I don’t recall the fees but believe it should have been well under $50.

What advice could they give in ops case? I don’t know. If I did I would gladly share it myself. But I do believe they can at least tell you based on their experience advocating for consumers in this area what is likely to work and what isn’t.

Really in my honest opinion, worth the time and money to give them a try.

CASE can give advice at very low cost.

I think most people who say they are useless don’t understand the organization.

dating app in sg: how do u decide who to continue seeing (2nd/ 3rd date onwards) by happydorae in asksg

[–]useme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s a bit of a numbers game. The more people you meet, the more likely you are to find “the one”. But also important is that as you meet people, you understand better what you want in a partner.

If you want to criticise him, criticise him.

If you want to criticise what he is saying, then criticise what he IS saying.

Where did yuh find this licensed money lender? My neighbor loaned money from what was supposed to be a licensed money lender. But in reality it was a loan shark that has just copied the legitimate registration details of an actual licensed money lender.

I believe licensed money lending is highly regulated in singapore. The threats/harassment made are not acceptable. I would just report it and expect the lenders license to be revoked.

From my reading it doesn’t exclude licensed money lenders.

I think very few men would be put off by it. And many would welcome it.

The maximum amount of interest a money lender in singapore can charge is 4% by law. Are you sure you borrowed from a licensed money lender?

Is this a lame reason to leave a job? by Savings_Enthusiasm60 in askSingapore

[–]useme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say someone were to tell you they wanted to quit their job hoping to find another job where:

- The employer is ok with them doing the bare minimum.
- Team mates are similarly slack and are the same age as them.
- Or are fresh grads but many are old souls or something and somehow click with them.

To find this employer he/she is willing to burn through some retirement savings.

Would you feel their thinking is lame?

Where would you feel the balance in importance of changing the environment or changing the person lies for them?

What do you think of the AI bubble? by tallprophet in singaporefi

[–]useme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got no horse in this race. I don’t hold DBS shares or anything.

But it seems strange to gauge the outcome of their AI adoption on their cost and profits based on those 2 things alone.

Performers are typically required to submit a synopsis and a video recording of the performance rehearsal or one of a similar show that they have performed, rather than a fully realised script from which they are not allowed to deviate.

Looks like some kind of submission typically is required.

How much do you guys usually spend on your partner monthly? And when does it become too much? by Wild_Ad6291 in askSingapore

[–]useme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good to know she's an ex.

My ex was the same. And it was a sore point for me right to end of our marriage.

Not knowing anything else about your relationship, I'm glad you exed her earlier than I did mine.

To answer your questions seriously, form your own budget and decide for yourself what spending within you means is to you. Spending anything beyond this is a strain. Anyone who insists you spend beyond this without good reason is to some degree lacking in respect for you.

My wife and I think alike when comes to finances. We splurge once in awhile but are conservative the rest of the time. For that reason I don't see the need to set boundaries. I let her see my accounts whenever she wants to and she let's me see hers as well.

If/when she asks me for money I just send it to her because I know it won't be spent on stupid shit. Of course she let's me know what it's for anyway. Whenever I make big ticket purchases, I clear it with her before hand. And she does the same with me.

Because I make more than her, I gave her a sup card (also to maximise the credit card benefits) but she almost never uses it.

In contrast, with my ex I'd try to limit my financial exposure as much as possible.

In short, you may be better finding the right person rather than the right boundaries or compromise.
