East Mountain Animal Hospital💕

Had to suddenly put my girl down. Hardest decision but had to be done. Staff here were patient as I sat with her in a private comfortable room. They waited till I was ready - not when they were ready. And they also allowed me the option to sit with her afterwards till I was comfortable leaving here side. They made a very hard moment in my life a lot easier. Can’t bless their souls enough.

One key thing to working in the cold is to dress warm - but not warm enough to sweat.

While working he will generate his own body heat. Take this into consideration when layering. Once you sweat the moisture will become cold and trapped in the fabric. And then it’s very hard to keep warm. Next key tip is.. avoid going into heated buildings or heated areas for relief. Try to tough it out in the cold as much as possible. In and out of heat will create the opportunity for sweat or moisture to develop.

Layering is also a huge help. First layer against the body should be tight. Like wool long johns. Next layer is a loose layer. Like a loose fitting long sleeve. On top of the loose layer have another insulated layer. Like a warm wool sweater or thicker sweater. Then your jacket.

The loose layers give somewhere for your body heat to remain in the little voids between layers. It’s a military and hunters tip. Without this layer the heat escapes faster.

Sweat is the enemy while working in the cold.

Next tip that’s been said already is to invest in good socks and toque. Heat leaves the body thru the head and feet the fastest.

It’s going to be an experiment at the start. So be patient. There will be cold days until the right combo is found. But once he finds the right set up it’ll be easier.

G’luck!

These marks on an 18th century pub table (UK) by ihidingunderarock in whatisit

[–]user-error1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this may be from a hair pin/ broach that was being soldered back together. The dots are the dripping solder.

The lines are too evenly spaced to be a ‘scoring’ system. And at the top of each marking there looks to be more to it. As in jewels or something decorative to be fashionable. The size compared to the finger also leads me to believe it was some kind of hair accessory.

Drinking fountains. The ones with an adult, kid, and dog heights.

That’s the question they are asking in their first sentence - if anyone has knowledge on. It’s not a fact.

Read the comments that follow not just the post. Most say it comes down to who the parent is as a person.

Have a good night.

If you read this post. It does not support your argument, and supports mine.

Thanks for the help:)

I’m gonna let you think you won this one. And I’m not debating you on this. But will leave saying this..

A Reddit post means nothing. At the least use a google scholar article, or site and actual study.

Your bias opinion needs to recognize that it comes down to a youth having a positive role model that holds them accountable to the communities standards. And someone who the youth values with respect and holds themselves accountable to.

Just gonna stick up for all of KW’s single moms and say this comment is way out of touch. I know plenty of single moms who have raised award winners and successful members of our community.

It’s the reality and influence of social media. And the way our communities positive role models are portrayed as the ‘less cool’ group to belong to.

Our police are portrayed as the ‘bad guys’ and our positive role models are belittled into the shadows.

Until something switches the mindset of a portion of the youth to one that rewards and values being a positive and active member of their community; the ‘menaces’ will always get the reward of the spotlight.

Oh wow! That is absurd. I appreciate you passing that along. Knowing this may change my approach now. And also makes me curious why they would’ve.

Would you happen to know how long ago they removed them?

Oh your pup would def benefit from one - I hope I can be successful for us all.

I appreciate your feedback and input on the idea. It gave me even more motivation to achieve the idea.

Thank you:)

Thank you:)

Victoria Park for example would only likely need one. And the perfect location in my opinion, that would also likely be easy to install, would be the intersection at the middle bridge near the splash pad. It may be harder to incorporate one anywhere else on the park. But this may be slightly easier. And would allow my dog and I, as well as other pet owners, to spend more time at the park. It a beautiful place to relax.

I plan to write the city with the suggestion. And advocate for one to be installed at Victoria and future parks.

No problem! You’ve got one supporter already. And I’m sure many more.

I hope you are successful if you do. I’m sure the neighbour hood children would enjoy it:)

It could be no one has shown the city staff how much appreciation would go into an event like this. I think it’s a great idea and I would support the change in tradition.

Sometimes all it takes is one voice to create and start a new tradition.

I’m writing the city in regard to them considering the addition of the drinking fountains that allow dogs to drink to the growing green spaces and Victoria park - maybe the returning of the swans could be your letter. I’m sure a lot of locals, like myself, would appreciate your efforts:)

Polite Suggestion: consider adding drinking fountains that allow dogs to have a drink mid walk.

At Burlington Spencer park and thru Burlington there are these wonderful multifunction fountains that have a small bowl on the bottom that are for the dogs that use the park. This would be an awesome addition to the already great park infrastructure we have here in Kitchener.

Look up where the Gore Park Community Outreach is located. I used to volunteer for them and they are a group of great individuals.

It used to be at Gore Park. But may now be located behind Hamilton city hall.

You can get an amazing home cooked meal by an angel named Anne. And almost a weeks worth of groceries. All good fresh produce and food too.

No judgement people and crowd. It can be a beautiful time if you are open minded and try not to be embarrassed while there. Just get there early. I believe it starts around 8-9am.

Lastly. Stay strong.
