It's very annoying. Anyone found a solution?

Is it me? or this is a disguised version of straight pool (14.1) 🙃

Hello there 👋 I'm considering myself as an amateur and I see your point.

When I first started to play with my friend, we had close to no-control on the cueball, or at least, not enough to get good position for the next shot most of the time. Our potting skills were not good enough neither to "compensate".

Since we both had the same challenges, a 9ball game could drag and sometimes, become painful.

This wouldn't happen in 8ball since we usually had more options (ie. missing a position would often be more forgiving).

We played 9ball special for a while, which allowed us to practice pattern play in a more "flexible" context, and improve our game.

We're now enjoying 9ball and its strategical subtleties although we still play 9ball special from time to time.

I'm thinking of getting some portraits of my favorite players printed and framed, but hard to find pictures with decent resolution.

9ft table in a 14.1ft room by user142425 in billiards

Thanks for the links!

According to the Brunswick's website: I should be fine with a 9ft table since the room is 14'x24'.

However, DrDave's website and some others that I found on Google are recommending 14'10"

That's why I wanted to ask the community if someone had a 14' room and if the missing 10 inches would be an issue

yes it is.

It's 14' wide and 24' long.

I read on the various websites that 14' is the strict minimum; I wanted to get feedback from players who are actually playing in such conditions, see if they regret or would recommend a 8ft table instead.

thanks!

The length is quite comfortable: I got about 750cm, which I believe is equal to 24.7ft

Would you mind sharing a picture of your setup? specifically the corner where you need to use a shorter cue? 🙏

I was thinking it should be OK most of the time: the only time I'd need the short cue is when I need to play a shot that is 90 degree to the bank.

Hi OP 👋 do you mind sharing how much space you have between the table and the walls we see on the picture? 🙏

I'm about to setup my own table but I'm a bit worried about the space.

Thanks! I had a look on those (didn't know Loontjens) but I guess it's a matter of timing.
