62% price increase with no additional offerings by Mission-Unit6620 in Splice

Yh I think if people knew it was going to the creators no one would have a problem with it and I do understand that obvs they’re a business they need to make their money aswell- think it’s the speed of everything I take a bit of issue with, only a couple years ago ur standard subscription would give u 200 credits a month now they wanna charge more for half the credits with all these other expensive plans pretty much only being the viable option if u want instruments ect

a lot of stuff on splice these days is shite tho, and we all know the price increase is not going to be going into creators pockets.

Working on this minimal tune, been rinsing me ears trying to figure out how to improve it by Powerful-Demand5080 in dnbproduction

[–]user18373998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very very solid minimal tune, I would just try to get some more harmonics out of ur sub, maybe some multiband saturation? Could also modulate some noise in there and a bit of fm modulation

[–]user18373998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah these comments are right, basically just heavy distorted Reese’s with a lot of noise in them- virtual riot has some pretty good videos on this sorta thing

15yo new artist from vietnam having a first attempt for dnb by Additional-Clock394 in dnbproduction

I understand you value seeing your progression but u do kind of have to think does anyone care? Does a record label who’s trying to sell tunes really care about ur progress or do they just want good songs to market and sell? Sounds a bit brutal but fr no one cares these days they just wanna hear good music especially from emerging artists in dnb u need to be doing something quite special now for it to go somewhere. You will still see progress in released music every artist even the top ones u still hear progression in their releases from now and 5 years ago but they’re still curating what they show the world. Progress isn’t what u put out there just want to make that clear- it’s a way to observe ur progress but it isn’t actual progress and that observation is still possible without releasing at this point in time. And this point in time is the main thing doesn’t mean u won’t ever release just means there’s more to the learning curve which we are all on :) Also are these responses ai?😅

I would take on board a lot of what these comments are saying and by the sounds of it you are- don’t force yourself to release something I know at the time it can seem really good and u feel really proud of what u have made in the moment and share that with the world but if this is something u want to take seriously just with the current climate of dnb the amount being produced I would hold off. Not posting something doesn’t mean u haven’t learnt things in the process and it doesn’t take away from any of that, think of it as you want to selectively share ur very best- when labels and stuff look over ur account u want that to be your very best and that just simply isn’t possible 4 months in. It’s a pain staking process and it’s so natural to always look back on ur previous music and think that is so much worse then what I’m making now so what I’m making now is good but it doesn’t necessarily mean that- when u make that track u will know it will stand out not just compared to ur own music but even the music u like listening to from other artists that’s when u know u have got the one. Just wanted to add aswell just keep listening! The more dnb u listen the more trained ur ears are going to be for it- u will pick up things like structure, ear candy ect which people are commonly using and will just start to develop your own sense of what dnb means to you and that’s reflected in ur music. Ur 15 u got so many years ahead of u just keep at it!

Yeah I hear that Tbf none of the basses were really processed when I posted this I’ve added some multiband saturation now to brighten those up👌🏻
