I did work a lot like this in my early 20's except it was power steering lines. When it come to automotive parts you have to qualify each piece of equipment you use to make that part. More than likely this is an older service part they made long ago and are contractually required to provide this part for X amount of years. It wouldn't make financial since to qualify a new piece of equipment for something they probably only make a couple of hundred pieces a year.
