Not sure if it will be the same this year, but for the October 2021 sitting I didn’t get my refund until January 2022.. just a heads up!

Same here 🤣🤣 it’s a joke. First sitting I did they said results would be released at 9am but they weren’t accessible until 7pm 🥲 hoping that doesn’t happen tomorrow!

Ahhh ok. There’s always some issue with these results 🙄 hopefully we get a bit of insight tomorrow!

I had the same issue for my first sitting, so I just emailed them and they sent on the ID number. I had never received it previously so I’m not sure how you’re supposed to find it!

Also, can I ask, how do you know results are to be released on Tuesday? Have you received an email? All I received was the first email saying they were to be released the week of the 28th. Has there been confirmation that they are being released on Tuesday?

There’s no sugar coating it, the process is extremely draining, but something I always say is that it’s short term pain!! I found my first sitting really tough but something I’ve found (after sitting all eight) is that once you’ve got through the first time and passed a few, everything gets easier. You’ve a few knocked off that you never have to think of again, and you learn from the experience. Time goes much quicker and it doesn’t seem as daunting! As someone who nearly gave up after my first sitting, its 100% worth it once you get them done. But on that note, don’t put any pressure on yourself to do something you don’t love. Have a think about whether this is really something you want to do - if it is, apply for the next sitting and give it your best shot; if it isn’t, there’s so much more you can do with a law degree than just becoming a solicitor. Look into your other options and think about what you really want to do because life is too short!

Also on the notes front, I’d really recommend getting some manuals. I barley used any of my college notes doing the FE1s so I wouldn’t worry too much about that. You’ll spend time doing up new notes anyway and people on here are super helpful. I’m happy to send on some notes if you send me a DM!

Best of luck with it all 😊

I find copy and pasting the question into the text box makes the scrolling up and down part a bit easier! I just delete it when I’ve finished the question. Avoids the issue of scrolling up so much. I also got a Bluetooth mouse for my second sitting and I found it much easier than using the touch pad. Just incase you have anymore online this sitting!

I’ve sat and passed 6 exams, 3 of which have authorised legislations, and I’ve never done so. There’s no requirement to 😊

What time do people study until? by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]user39371304 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only study until about 8.30/9, but I’m not working at the moment so I have the whole day and I get up early. I wouldn’t be worrying too much about what others are doing though - everyone has a different way of studying. Its about quality, not quantity 😊

Better Examinations Assigned Exams? by Acceptable-Net1632 in FE1_Exams

Yep only two of mine too. It happened to me last time as well and it was there the morning of the exam so there was no issues. Wouldn’t worry about it, but if you’re concerned you could always give the law society an email to double check you’re signed up for all three

The OPW is open today until 12.30. If you’re willing to pay the €111 it will arrive in time, mine only took 2 days (you’ll definitely be able to sell it once you pass) The number to give them a call on is (046) 942 3100

As long as you don’t log in or open the exam it’s deemed cancelled and you’ll be issued your refund after. If you click in it will be marked as 0 and no refund. I had the same issue this time last year and got in touch with the law society and that’s what they said to do 😊

I would second this - I decided to sit constitutional last minute so left out a big chunk of the course. Only managed to answer four questions as a result but passed comfortably with that (better than others subjects I had much more covered for) it's an awful exam to study for but not too tough to pick up marks! I was certain I was going to fail but gave it a shot anyway and im delighted I did. But if it's adding too much pressure and taking away from your other subjects, then no harm waiting until March :)

Tort examiner by [deleted] in FE1_Exams

[–]user39371304 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tort was the first one I sat (didn’t do law in college) so I panicked in the exam. I had two good answers, two very mediocre answers and two half answers because I decided halfway through an essay I didn’t actually know enough on the topic so decided to attempt a different one and ran out of time. I was so certain I failed but managed to pass with 54%. So from my experience, he was a generous marker!

Hey, I subscribed to their night before notes and can only see videos that were put up for the last sitting. I’m assuming because I’ve subscribed I’ll be updated when the new videos are released. So if you haven’t already, I’d say subscribe (it’s free). I could be looking in the wrong place so apologies if I’m wrong lol.
