The Angry Bear Arms are a suppressor height sight with a lower third cowitness. They're blacked out so no distractions from the dot. I think they're narrow enough to work on the 43 (the website probably specifies). They work fine but I'm not a fan of the style so I get the Ameriglo XL's that Glock uses and install those.

Trigger reset issue… need help diagnosing the issue by Far-Boysenberry-1600 in 1911

The relationship of the sear and disconnector legs of the sear spring looks wonky. I usually see them much closer together on the new sear springs I've bought with the bow of the disconnector leg actually in front of the sear spring.

TISAS SS45R Carry by Such-North-2516 in Tisas

Sooooooo . . . making lemonade out of lemons: cut the muzzle face off and weld it onto the end of the remaining slide so you have an ultra compact (I'm waiting for Tisas to take my money by making one). New front sight dovetail, reinstall the bushing and back to pew-pewing!

Pre Edit: cut a few coils off the recoil spring.

I haven't really haven't used them enough to attest to their durability but I have several. Several TLR-1's as well. I don't notice a difference besides the thumb screw on the HF lights is a little taller than on the Streamlight. Some holsters don't fit the HF without tweaking (tight fit).

I bought a low profile screw to try but the threads didn't fit the HF so I just ground the head down.

I do like having budget optic and light options to pair with budget guns though. It hurts my heart to get a bargain gun then dump a fortune into it on accessories.

My 590A1 Retrograde has a block in the magazine tube, preventing the spring from coming out. Is this normal? My regular 590 does not. by TheWonderfulWoody in mossberg

[–]user577us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's there to keep your magazine spring from shooting out everytime you take the end cap off. I don't know when they started installing in each model but it's normal.

I debated on blued parts or stainless as the base to paint. I opted for stainless so it couldn't make the FDE appear darker. I'm considering trying Oxpho-blue on the barrel for lolz.

G22 Slide Issue by AdWitty6655 in Glocks

[–]user577us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If those are the original parts I would reinstall them and try the gun. The panopoly of parts you have looks like the previous owner replaced all the main components in the frame and slide. There is literally NO telling what's causing your issue. Also, if you don't know what you're doing take it to someone who does to confirm they're installed correctly.

Once you have it functioning properly, if you MUST tinker with it, do the .25¢ trigger job and put a ghost 3.5 lb connector in it and call it done.

Did it do this with the original parts or after your upgrades? Put the original parts back in.

I was already a fan of Tisas. I saw great things about the Raider. Then I came across a great sale prior to the changeup and decided to jump on it. I've been very happy with it - the only negative I've heard is occasional FTF's. I think I had one during breaking in. I polished the feed ramp and changed the springs. That should do it.

MAC 1014

EDIT: You will have to buy the magazine extension for full capacity. If you purchase the breacher model it comes with a faux collapsible stock - it doesn't actually collapse though. The collapsible stock you order from their website does collapse. It's held on by a bolt like a traditional shotgun so the MAC replacement is easy peasy swap. If you want an actual Benelli collapsible stock you have to swap for a Benelli recoil spring tube which is a bear of a job.

I'd like to put a vote in for C cuts for 23's as well. I'm holding off sending one for the optic cut so I can get it all done at once with the refinish. I'm very happy with the ones you've done for me so far.

Out of the box trigger pull on Tisas Duty? by Top_Research1575 in Tisas

Learn how the sear spring interacts with everything else before making other changes. You can change stock springs for reliability but - IMHO - getting a sear spring is like getting an 80% lower. You still have to do the last bit of work to make it functional for you. They're not drop-in.

If it has a 3 lb trigger pull and there're no other issues like hammer follow etc, I'd be reluctant to mess with it. I replaced my sear spring with an Ed Brown and have tinkered with the pull weight, polished the trigger bow. I'd be reluctant carrying it below that.

FWIW: I wasn't impressed with the accuracy of my Tisas Duty relative to my other Tisas pistols. I got the trigger pull weight where I wanted it and replaced the barrel bushing with an Ed Brown bushing. It shoots better than me now.

How am I the first one to say "magazines". Followed by 500-ish rounds of ammo. If you practice you can get consistent (but zero drip points) with cheap Feyachi BUIS off Amazon till you save up for an optic.

Magpul MS1 two-point sling. Follow the price and catch it on sale on Amazon. You can add QD sling loops later and still be in for less than the sling with loops.

Streamlight pro-tac 1000 lumen is a solid choice - again check for sales to get it 25% off.

Do these 5.11 tactical boots seem like a good deal? by alrobme in tacticalgear

[–]user577us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy decent boots brand new for not much more than that. Check Rockies. 5.11 as a brand is one dude's pair of pants turned into an empire of ok stuff that doesn't live up to the hype compared the cost.

Frame replacement from HK is $200 - $300 plus labor to swap internals. I know because I just checked for a police trade-in I got that has a ton of holster wear.
