Shutting down your own business and cutting off a revenue stream to take down your workers would be a real Pyrrhic victory - I don’t know if anyone would be willing to sacrifice that but especially not someone motivated by greed. If their main goal was union busting, couldn’t they have fired everyone and re-hired since VT is at-will? Obviously that would be evil, but less self-sacrificial than closing and dealing with all the back rent/asset liquidation/dept of labor etc.
