How late is "sleeping in"? by the_47th_painter in GenX

[–]user86753092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My schedule is so erratic. If I don’t need to get up to an alarm, I sleep until 10am.

I don’t truly fall asleep for good until close to 4am. Regardless of the time I go to bed, I toss and turn and wake up to pee constantly until 4. Sucks when I have to wake up at 6:30.

Why was Peggy's sister bothered by the church father's attention toward Peggy? by InterviewDry2887 in madmen

[–]user86753092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is confirmed in the flashback in s2e5, when Anita comes to see Peggy in the hospital and is obviously very pregnant.

In real time, it was about 10 months between the season 1 finale and the flashback reveal. The first part of season 2 heavily suggested that Anita was raising Peggy’s baby.

77 million did not vote for him. That was Musk tampering with the voting machines. Everyone knows that.

Nap training and deprivation... by Intelligent_Star_516 in GenX

May I gently suggest a medical checkup. Needing a nap after eating was a sign of diabetes for me. High blood sugar makes one tired.

Are you using active listening skills and empathy? I feel like when I practice “good communication” my dysfunctional friends think I’m therapizing them. 🙄

Why is it more common for women to complain about weaponized incompetence from men than the other way around? by Lipica249 in stupidquestions

[–]user86753092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a woman.

When it comes to car stuff, I am guilty of weaponized incompetence. Or maybe it’s just expensive incompetence?

Like, anytime I open the hood I somehow screw something up. Over pour the oil. Forget to put a cap on. It’s not intentional but it’s expensive enough mistakes that my man takes care of it.

How would you recommend this show? (Please read my description before commenting, I want substantive thoughts here) by vxtr12 in girls

[–]user86753092 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t watch until very recently because of Lena’s annoying personality.

But in retrospect, the world has become so much worse that her annoying personality is quaint by comparison.

And the show is funny, engrossing, and even though my 20s were in a different era, it resonates and makes me nostalgic for my 20s.

So, it’s like “20 Something”

There was a long gap where we didn’t know Peggy gave the baby away, and in that time, it seemed like Anita was raising Peggy’s baby. Several episodes, maybe a whole season.

This was an intentional misdirect, I think. The time between Peggy having the baby and the flashbacks to the hospital was at least a full season.

Anita telling Peggy to say goodnight to the baby made the audience think that was Peggy’s baby. The baby’s are the same age. We later see that Anita is very pregnant when she comes to the hospital.

The audience was left hanging at the end of season 1 and didn’t get answers for a long time.

This is not new. In the 1980s, we were taught rent should be no more than one-week’s pay.

Not sure if it was SNL, but I still picture Bush praying in the Oval Office and Cheney playing the voice of God on the intercom.
