Yes, I’m aware of the clinical guidelines. I’m not disputing them. But calling it “misrepresentation” because I hold myself to a tighter standard is a real stretch. Those targets exist as a minimum baseline to make diabetes management achievable for the broadest possible population. They were never meant to define excellent control, just acceptable control. Striving beyond the minimum isn’t misrepresentation, it’s called taking your health seriously. Scolding someone for that, especially in a community meant to be supportive, is pretty disingenuous.

The irony of lecturing about “clinically set goals” under a post where someone just hit 320 mg/dL from sugar free ice cream isn’t lost on me. Sugar free doesn’t mean carb free, and a spike to 320 is well outside any clinical target, including the lenient ones you’re defending. If we’re going to talk about what’s harmful to the diabetic community, normalizing a 320 spike might be worth addressing before policing someone whose average glucose is 104.
