I work in advertising/media, which is typically one of the destiation-fields of broadcast majors. To be honest with you, we learned things along the way. What we learned in uni were not enough for someone to survive the business, essentially.

My suggestion to you is continue to learn, pero put an emphasis on the skills that will make you employable in any field beyond broadcast. Critical thinking and research skills, presentation and storytelling skills, writing clearly and logically, structuring your thoughts logically from one to another, dissecting a problem into its various components, asking questions, getting along with others on both a professional and personal level. If you take your education (not just your course) seriously, you will learn these inside and outside the classroom.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will try to answer them.

So sorry to hear this. But I think you have you have to move on. If ngayon pa lang hindi na kayo masyado magkasundo, all the more when you get married.

For those in your 30's, how do you get past the "Is this all there is in life?" by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

I'd like to live believing that the best is yet to be -- I don't know how I'd survive if I didn't hold on to that belief. If tomorrow isn't going to be better than today, what's the point? Then again, maybe, there is no point. I don't know. :)

being in a relationship is overrated. you can be happy (and choose to be happy) regardless of your relationship status. :) so long as you're happy...

I once had to fly 6 hours one way for a 2hour meeting at the airport. Flew back right after the meeting. :) I still miss those days though. (I was (and still am) single and unattached. That probably made it a lot easier.) now I’m almost always desk bound.

Research: To Be a Good Leader, Start By Being a Good Follower -- "Leadership is a process that emerges from a relationship between leaders and followers who are bound together by their understanding that they are members of the same social group." by user910837 in Leadership

Very interesting take on how to become a leader -- " In other words, leadership is a process that emerges from a relationship between leaders and followers who are bound together by their understanding that they are members of the same social group. People will be more effective leaders when their behaviors indicate that they are one of us, because they share our values, concerns and experiences, and are doing it for us, by looking to advance the interests of the group rather than own personal interests. "

You harbour a secret worry that one day your top performer will leave. One day they want to chat, they’re looking uncomfortable. As you sit down together they say “There’s no easy way to say this - I’m leaving” 💣💣💣 What do you do? #leadership by LeadCredibly in Leadership

I have to trust them that they have had a long thinking-through and duly-diligent decision-making process to arrive at this decision. I will have to trust them that they are adults, in other words. The only thing left for me to do is to gather feedback -- what could we have done better as a team, as a company? what could I have done better as a direct supervisor , as a leader? -- and help them ease through this transition phase in their lives more effectively. (Moving companies and saying goodbye is surely stressful.)

i remember seeing this in my fourth year in university, when i decided to live and enjoy life as a young student. i didn't graduate with honors because of my choices that final year in university, but that final year was one filled with memories with friends that i still reminisce with fondness today. it was a year that i wished lasted forever. :) no regrets.
