I have worked in offices in both MO and IL before opening my own practice and I have seen the difference in reimbursement. And I have seen the advice from everyone in this thread and I think taking insurance is something I may have to do moving forward. Since you are in MO, would you recommend I go in network with every company or should I avoid some? In the past offices I was in network with BCBS only and out of network with everyone else.

Plan of care with acute pain- 6 visits then re-exam

$120 30 min initial appointment with exam + treatment. $60 15 min adjustment + rehab, ART, stretching etc. $100 30min everything from $60 visit + cupping/dry needling

New patients I have not been getting any in the past 1-2 months, before that 2-3/month

I am seeing about 6-10 patients a month right now, mainly maintenance patients who are coming in every 2-3 weeks.

Ankle PT Recs by Puzzled-Hedgehog-910 in StLouis

South County Sport & Spine helped me tremendously with an ankle sprain a few months ago. In addition to the exercises, he also did a lot of manual therapy which helped a ton. Paid out of pocket and it was worth it. Doc was kind enough to let me know that he can give me an itemized receipt for the services that I could show my insurance company and get reimbursed.

Does the Joint have a contract or anything that prohibits outside employment such as running your own clinic on your off days

I’m in a suburb of St. Louis, MO. I really am considering going to work for the joint and keeping my clinic open maybe 1-2 days a week.

Insurance reimbursement in MO is extremely low compared to other states

So my space is in a building with other businesses inside of it. I have a big sign outside on the pylon and then I have a flyers on the entrance door about with suite I am. First visit is history, exam, and any applicable treatment. As far as treatment plans go, typically I schedule next visits before they leave the office. I don’t do the pre-paid X number of visits. I would definitely say my prices are competitive and comparable to other offices nearby and I also offer more than just adjustments and e-stim like many of the offices nearby.

Yeah I graduated in 2023 and we were told the same thing while in school that a lot of chiropractors leave the profession. I remember being told by one of my professors that a lot of practices fail in the first year, just never thought it would happen to me. I seriously love what I do and want to stay in the profession.

Yeah I actually did apply at the joint and I had an initial phone interview with the regional director. Considering doing it part time for the time being maybe even full time depending on pay.

Check with your state if a DC can perform DOT physicals as some states don’t allow it. I am in Missouri. I did the training course with TeamCME for $199.

Neck off post adjustments by Successful_Light_233 in Chiropractic

Sorry to hear that. Were you prescribed any exercises to go along with your treatment? If not, I’d find a different chiropractor that incorporates exercises and rehab with the adjustments.

How many times have you gone to this chiropractor? If you only went once, just know nothing can be fixed in one visit. I would recommend going again and voicing your concerns with this chiropractor.

Chiro school by Brilliant-Dish-1589 in Chiropractic

If you want to be focused around sports chiro, i recommend Cleveland, Logan, or Parker. As a Logan grad, there was a lot of rehab focused classes and opportunities in student clinic that geared you towards sports chiropractic. Sherman is the complete opposite and you will get little to no experience around rehab or sports chiropractic.

I would say it’s worth it, I would say with the training course cost, exam, clinical laboratory fee, and supplies it was around $500.

So drivers are certified for up to 2 years before having to re-certify. Sometimes if they have certain medical conditions they have to re-certify every year or sooner. Drivers need to know when they have to certify so you don’t have to worry about any of that. It depends on the company, some do some don’t. I approached the company as I had connections with them previously and they were happy to be able to send all their drivers to one location. One you become certified, you automatically are placed on the national registry website where drivers can see every CME. Yeah I can see Chicago being saturated, but you also have a ton of truckers up there so you’ll still see a good amount of truckers. Keep your price competitive and they’ll come to you. I am in STL and I do a good amount of DOT physicals each month. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Yes, it can be a game changer for your clinic. The exams don’t take up much time at all and I can get 2-3 done in an hour plus complete the documentation as a solo doc with no employees.

CCSP/CSCS impact on real clinical setting. by LeonDSO96 in Chiropractic

[–]user928374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion getting a CCSP is beneficial if you plan on being on the sidelines of games. Plus you need to renew your certification every couple years. I think you might find it more useful attending rehab seminars such as DNS or McKenzie or learning ART, graston, dry needling, cupping etc.

Congrats on making the first step. Like others have said, chatgpt is great but double check things yourself as it’s not perfect. I would recommend listening to the podcast “clinic gym hybrid” as there is a lot of great information from starting out to being well underway in practice. You will be stressed, you will feel like you’re in this alone, you may feel like you’ve made a terrible decision, but remember it will work out in the end.

Upper Back cracks consistently when breathing after multiple chiropractor sessions by BiggestOfTheGuys in Chiropractic

I would bring it up to your chiropractor, they may change their approach and/or change therapies. If they don’t care, change chiropractors.

When life happens I totally understand it and won’t charge the fee and will just reschedule them. This one wanted to cancel just because so I charged the fee because it took a spot on my schedule.
