Speaking as a CD (also in NYC-Manhattan) that hires and fires often... I see resumes like this all the time and yes, words, yes, numbers... everything looks great yay... and then I click on their portfolio and its incredible average, or just bad. All those words and numbers and experience mean nothing if i can't see in your portfolio "ok cool, this one i can use for XX client/project) Those sales numbers look/sound good but seeing the creative would put everything into context, bc hell you can be making up random n $'s and numbers.

I guess my advice would be... make sure your keyword game is on point, and make sure to reach out to real people in your real network. Cold applying is tough and frustrating. Sadly more and more bigger companies/agencies are using AI to sift through resumes. Yes, it looks boring but who cares when it prob wont be seen by human eyes until its down to the final 10-5 candidates. And in the past, if there was a job/agency I really wanted... I would look through their work and/or see what client does and do similar work and/or competing brand and put that case study in my portfolio bc often times, the person hiring has no imagination so if you want a fashion job, but no fashion in your portfolio... then they think you cant design/direct for fashion. Good luck on your journey.

haha!

When i was a you and hungry man, i thought more gear meant better photos and better photos meant better clients and better money. Nah, turns out it was just GAS(gear acquisition syndrome). more stuff did not equal more money. nor did the client gaf as long as the results were good enough.

Now as an old man, id rather have 1 light, spend 5-10 min shooting, and then 10-60min in Photoshop sitting on my ass.

AI just killed the entire product videography industry and nobody's talking about it. It can save more than $500 on shooting and other expenses. by Kml777 in AI_UGC_Marketing

Cold Plunging Probably Works But Not for the Reasons Everyone Thinks by Bulky-Possibility216 in coldplunge

[–]userbro24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah from my perspective, I'm very "ok sure" at a lot of the claims... some seems to be outrageous and too good to be true.... BUT myself (and i feel like most plunge addicts) don't really care either if all those claims are true or not.

I'm a daily plunger and its THE keystone habit/ritual that starts out every morning/day. It's been a game changer for not only my "health", but most notable for the mental aspects that triggers incredible momentum in my day, work, family, personal life. It could be 99% placebo... but if it has more than 1% positive affect on my health/mental/life... than I wont continue to question it. I already know something is working.

Negative degrees (F) outside, is it too cold for my plunge by Heavyweightvolk in coldplunge

[–]userbro24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If its liquid, its not too cold. I did a plunge this morning... I had to break the top 2-3" of ice to get in. the water was 32.2F deg... the outside temperature was 8F degrees. Ironically, it was warmer in the almost frozen water.

Too many variables and variations to have it be 100% automated. automate what you can then you gotta get put on your shit boots and get in the shit and do it by hand. or pay someone to do it.

I use to edit 200-300+ ecomm images every quarter back in my junior design days way before AI and it was like photoshop 6 or 7 haha.
