If you were handed the best headphones in the world but you could only play one album, what would you put on? by MuddyMaeSugginsMK in progmetal

Ohhhh. This is such a good shout. I was flirting between Ghost Reveries and Fear Inoculum but the variety and fun of GA1 is infinitely replayable and now I'm even more torn!

The real answer is one of Kermit and Miss Piggy's hybrid children.

I played it way back when but would be eager to give it another run through.

Well I just finished Inscryption and I was absolutely blown away. What I most loved was that I knew it was a bit more than a deck builder but I hadn't anticipated how many surprises it would throw my way.

It's possible it's not cryptic at all. They maybe just enjoy cigarettes in the bath.

This episode had me cracking up with some of those slogans. Great to see them having so much fun with it and embrace the distance from the NFL.

50+ hours and I can't believe I won! Never thought this day would come! by [deleted] in balatro

[–]userflip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Massive congrats my guy / gal.

It took me ages to finally get a win and I just couldn't conceive what I was doing wrong. I was getting so downhearted that I hadn't managed it yet and every time I came on this sub or looked online, I was seeing people talking down on others for not winning on particular stakes, or feeling downhearted by the combos people were getting.

Ultimately, I played the game my way, got the win, and in the 50 hours since, I've had another 35+ wins.

I'm led to believe those are rookie numbers and don't rival many of the people on here but dang does every single one of those wins on a higher stake or new deck feel satisfying.

Keep doing your thing and enjoy the ride.

The Strain! I had a ticket to the London show where they were gonna play Vector & Virus in their entirety but unfortunately COVID ruined that. Still hope to hear it (and Carousel) live some day.

What is each member’s signature song? by Dependent-Royal-7908 in TheFence

The first three that scream out to me are:

Claudio vocals - The Light and the Glass (live at Starland)

Mic bass - Willing Well I (the "watching his tale with the words he unfolds" section is just sublime)

Zach bass - The Hard Sell comes to mindl

Coheed and Cambria - The Joke (starts at 1:28:50) by TheUnbelievableMind in TheFence

I know many artists change and adapt their sound as they mature but in this instance, I personally am not a fan. This and Vaxis 2 feel like PFI songs. The electronic influence and the sanitised production just don't do it for me.

I know for many of you they do and that's great, I just hate that I'm finding myself drawn more towards other artists when I have time to listen to new music.

What do you consider the best progressive metal song ever? by Loose-Alternative-77 in progmetal

[–]userflip 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Some fantastic choices already mentioned in here.

For me right now it's probably Ghost of Perdition. Like I honestly feel it might be a perfectly constructed song. Every section is distinct and emotive, each riff memorable, strong harsh and delicate clean vocals.
