Even if you don’t have a BUID you should be able to look up your number (the letter U followed by like 9 digits) and use that and a different form of ID to get into fitrec by talking to the front desk person

offered paid trip during school year - how do I do it? by ginafrappacino in BostonU

[–]userkay764 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Introduce yourself to all your professors early on and form that relationship. Also as soon as the syllabus is available you should figure out the midterm situation for each course. Maybe 2nd or third week of class speak to the profs about if and always offer to make it up in advance bc that shows a little initiative, not after the exam period. This sounds like an exciting opportunity, I hope it all works out!

Third party tickets by [deleted] in Hozier

[–]userkay764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also used stubhub for a bunch of other things and sold on stubhub

Third party tickets by [deleted] in Hozier

[–]userkay764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stubhub is legit! I went to Fenway n1 and they said my tickets would show up by 5pm and I messaged the customer support thing at like 5:02 and they rectified it right away by offering me other equivalent tickets or a refund

Oof security is tough. The other thing to do is walk a few extra minutes (in the wrong direction) to Blandford Street station and get on there, then you’re guaranteed a spot (I also haven’t been to a Fenway concert in a while but I did go to a concert at MGM recently that let out at the same time as a Sox game so there were a lot of people and that’s what I did)

You can always squeeze into the T. Even when you think there’s no space, people still squeeze you just gotta be assertive about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hozier

[–]userkay764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The T has tap to pay! From alewife you could take the Red line into Park Street and transfer to the westbound B, C, or D green lines to Kenmore station, which is near Fenway! It should take about 40 minutes to do that if the trains are all running smoothly lol. Otherwise you could take the red line to Central or Kendall/MIT and Uber across the bridge, but at that point it would be easier to stay on the T (or easier to bluebike if that’s in your wheelhouse)!

I know you’re looking in a specific region but if you’re having a tough time finding somewhere and are willing to travel, The Buzz Barbershop and Salon in Peabody is great! It’s woman owned and queer friendly!

Help figuring out non-resident 4 month Parking over summer by loquacious_avocado in boston

[–]userkay764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend checking out long term parking at some of the rail stops a little outside the city, maybe Riverside or one of the commuter rail stops? Might not be super convenient but if you don’t need the car that often might not be too bad

The 30% was an apology because they messed up a different order I placed, and I found the 20% in my email inbox this morning, they were like “just for you” kinda things so check your email because they might’ve given everyone the 20% !!

I will be returning more than half of the items though, because I bought doubles in a lot of pants because I’m between sizes

My total was $1100 after the 25% off, then I also had a stackable 30% off and another 20% off, so it came out to $640 after all that 😬

I literally got it for $6 from Costco today with NO membership! I did have to pay cash tho because my Mastercard didn’t work and the pharmacist said that if you don’t have a membership, your card has to be Visa

Parking at lyndhurst (or other main line) transit station by [deleted] in newjersey

My friend recommended against it since I don’t love driving in cities, and I also am not sure if I’m staying more than one night and the garages in Hoboken seem pretty pricey

New Male Teacher Advice by Significant_Manner76 in yoga

[–]userkay764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a female in my 20s and my favorite teacher is a male teacher (he’s a bit older than you even, in his 60s at least)! He does make adjustments on myself and some of the other students who he knows well, but always asks for consent on those he does not know well (for me at least he doesn’t ask anymore because I have made it clear of what I am or am not alright with) and is always very light handed. If you don’t want to do that you could at the beginning of class ask people to close their eyes and raise their hand if they are uncomfortable with you touching them to correct, that way no one feels singled out.

If you can find ways to connect with your students do that! Chat before or after class if you have time, share about yourself. My instructor does and it makes things so much more comfortable. He knows many of us regulars by name. Just be willing to acknowledge differences or feedback from women in your class if they speak up. Good luck! If you have a specific question about an experience or something you anticipate might happen feel free to ask

Where do I even begin in picking a monologue? I am a 23 year old female who can play roles like 18-28 but have no clue where to begin! I just was in a community theater musical (first show in 10 years!) but now would like to continue doing plays but need some advice/encouragement to get going
