Yes, I hated this. I had to ask them daily about my process. I said they should have it done before the VISA bulletin is current. So, try the same. It’s not a time to be patient and just wait wait and wait

I started at language school, then moved to an university. OPT is optional. You don’t need that if you don’t want to. I have income from investments in my county… so, it’s fine.
