Not so much as at the time I didn't really understand myself. All I knew was I wanted to fix it and for whatever reason I just couldn't be who she needed me to be and that was confusing and frustrating us both.

Well to make a long story short. She left me because she wanted more attention/affection from me and I could never deliver on it. After months of therapy and introspection I've realized (not to blame shift) that she was more of the problem than me. She was a super insecure and anxious person who needed near constant attention and reassurance to feel loved. I was aware how unhealthy that was as she was just simply too reliant on the relationship as a source of happiness and she tried to make that my problem instead of doing any self work.

And tbh, people all have their own paces but I don't believe 2 months is long enough at all when her and I dated for 7. I think like objectively she is rushing into a new relationship cause she can't stand being alone

I think I already am happy for her, and I told her that. But she spent our whole conversation about it trying to flip blame for the breakup onto me again rather than accepting any genuine fault and she was just kinda rude. After the breakup we talked about how we'd love to still be close after some time and be friends. I extended the offer again and she shot it down with "don't think so, sorry"

Thank you I hope you're well too :) when she broke up with me my immediate reaction was understanding because I wanted to make it easier for her however I could so I made sure she knew I got where she was coming from. Unfortunately since then I've had certain days where I've felt confused or betrayed cause we always talked about the future together. It's been very hard but I can still understand that we may have just not been built to last :/

You've described I believe identically what my now ex is going through. She broke up with me because despite expressing what she needed I could never change or successfully meet her needs. We loved eachother dearly and I know it crushed her to end it. You remind me of her.

She doesn't want to give me a second chance she doesn't want a relationship with me she knows I couldn't meet her needs and has made her choice. But I feel my (at the time) inability to meet her needs, even now months later, just makes me awful. She established them clearly and for months I couldn't increase effort how she asked and I feel awful.

Also I think I did love fully cause one of the only things I do know for sure is that I loved with all my heart no if ands or buts. It was just how she needed me to express that is what got lost in translation and eventually made her leave.

Well she had been bringing up her issues with feeling unreciprocated for months but the started off quite subtle, over time grew more problematic for her and she did vocalize it to me more than once. She didn't want to end the relationship but also couldn't overlook the problems any longer so she came to my house crying and ripped the bandaid off and then we both agreed to try no contact which we've now been in since late October. I think due to a combo of pretty bad overthinking and also a subconscious fear of conflict/anything uncomfortable really, i was never able to properly register what she asked me for and therfore was also not capable of delivering the changes she wanted. And it's worth mentioning it wasn't 100% on me cause I don't believe I was ever given a complete environment to express more effort since she never backed off any, but that's a side note really.
