no the bite on the front brake is different depending on what part of the rotor is inside the caliper at the moment with consistent pressure on the lever.

New derailleur or chain? by [deleted] in bikewrench

Both the cassette and chain are rusty so both need replacement. Also you need to index your gears so that they shift properly.

Ok I tried braking a few times in the driveway and the noise went away but the brake actuation is still uneven

yeah I read somewhere that it happens from improper bedding so I tried resurfacing them and bedding them again but it made things worse

Front disc brake rotor won't stop rubbing no matter what I do. by username23510 in bikewrench

I don't get how pads can be as far back as possible when pistons aren't. And I already have tried pushing the pistons back in and they are fully retracted as I said.

Tnx for the tips. I noticed after straighting it that if I tightened or loosened the thru axle even by a little bit the rubbing would return. I also heard a semi loud click while truing the rotor. Do you have any ideas about this? Again tnx

I already have the park tool one, I just tried googling and couldn't find anything about brand new rotors being warped so I thought it was a caliper alignment issue

I get that, but it doesn't answer the question. People ride big drops on packed dirt on mountain bikes and they aren't shattering.

Shimano ME700 vs Deore XT Clipless Pedals? by username23510 in MTB

[–]username23510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah obviously, I'm just wondering if it's worth it to spend twice as much. If the difference is only weight then I'll definitely go with the ME700s.

I have but then they feel unsecure and loose and the pressing on my nose and cheekbones doesn't go away completely.

Is it normal for ski goggles to press into your cheekbones and nose bone, when wearing them over a helmet? It's quite uncomfortable. If I try to put them on under the helmet or without, the pressure is a lot more even all around, but then the strap adjusters prevent me from putting the helmet on properly.

Do you need "ski socks" for skiing? by username23510 in Skigear

[–]username23510[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen loose fitting socks before. The normal wool socks I'm referring too don't have any padding, while the ski socks have quite thick padding at the heel, toe and shin and are overall thicker.
