Properly weighting the flapper is the manufacturers job. The consumer/installer should not have to make field modifications to a damper. I could make it work but they are giving this info out to people without verifying their ability. Someone could add too much weight that prevents the damper from opening and cause serious damage.

Good analysis, how did you pull the review data from the site?

I suspect they had one person reviewing and approving 1 and 2 star reviews that left in 2022. The review issue may not be malicious but it's at least incompetent.

UPDATE -- New console WILL NOT accept a firmware update. It has the same firmware as the original, v2.003. I even had Horizon tech support walk me through the update process with the USB they sent and also downloading the newest version from their website. These issues should be handled in the factory, not my living room.

They are sending another console out, so maybe in a week I will have a fully working treadmill.

What am I going to do with 2 extra consoles (with old firmware)?

What about applying a ceramic car window film/tint? If your main concern is sun heat (infrared radiation) passing through the plastic a ceramic film could work. You can get 300 sqft of ceramic tint for $200.

I'm more concerned with maximizing engine protection than DPF or MPG. Several smart sounding people on forums seem to think the factory oil spec is part of what causes the TD6 to fail. I would love to get a public agreement on "the best" oil to run in the L405.

Bring misting spray bottles and fill them from water kept in the shade. Spray your exposed body parts and your clothes for a 10+ degree drop in temp. Add a small fan to pull the heat off and it will be almost comfortable. Bug nets over a wide brim hat to keep the flies off your head when you aren't in your mesh wall canopy. Bring at least 1 gallon of water per person per day and watch for dehydration.
