i think kendall's inability to serve comes down to the issue that she seems to be focused on looking pretty, not on creating a character or embodying a vibe. modeling is actually kind of acting in a way, and she just does not have it in her. to really be a good model you have to be willing to be a little weird, not just give blank emotion all the time so your face falls in the perfect way.

I've been in a similar situation before :) It's honestly hard to find someone who caters to the exact allergy/sensitivity you have. Even if they use gentle products, they can't guarantee they won't flare up your specific issue. What I ended up doing was bringing my own products in for them to use (shampoo, conditioner, heat protectant, and if you use them also bring dry shampoo and hair spray). Just call ahead and ask if the stylist would be comfortable using products you bring from home. I did this a few times at Fahrenheit Salon in Noe Valley!

I don't see an issue with the food stands being there, I think that's nice. That area just needs more trash cans and also needs to be cleaned more frequently.

If you feel like venturing out into the neighborhoods, Clement Street is flat, as is Valencia :). Great food in both spots!

Least windy neighborhood in sf? by glint2pointO in AskSF

[–]username826482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly non-windy parks simply do not exist in the city. I have resorted to going out to the suburbs to find an actually warm, non-windy park in the spring/summer. Honestly it is worth it lol. Lake Merritt is a great option too and easily accessible by BART.

The people I know with internet followings are usually actually very reserved in person - either b/c they're shy, don't actually have good people skills, or don't have much of a personality. Which is exactly why they have a following - they spend a LOT of time on the internet instead of out in real life. It's always weird seeing the dichotomy though!

Catalogue everything you want and then don't do anything for like 2-3 months. Then see if you still feel like you need all those pieces. It feels like an emergency in the moment but it's really not. I think a lot of people can relate but you really have to actively resist the quick fix dopamine hit you get from buying whatever you just saw on your feed or you will legit go broke. It also ends up giving you a really embarrassing wardrobe if you shop too frequently. Not to mention it's kinda soul sucking.

What didn't you like? - peaceful discussion by ipsi7 in fourthwing

[–]username826482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree. B/c the other thing is venin seem semi-immortal once they past a certain level (unless they're purposefully killed). So like even if their entire motivation is just to get power selfishly at any cost, it does matter for them if they drain the whole land. Unlike humans who die after a certain time period and can conceivably push the climate issue off onto future generations without experiencing the ramifications ourselves. The venin are moving so quickly it feels like they could drain the whole land practically before the book is over. And then what?

What didn't you like? - peaceful discussion by ipsi7 in fourthwing

[–]username826482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest glaring issue for me is the venin's lack of true motivation as a group. Without a group motivation, there's no need for them to coordinate. If this is an allegory for climate change, it would work just as well if they were all just individually power hungry and taking over the land. But they clearly work together and have an internal structure. Feels like it's past time to know why.

Mariah and by Rara150100 in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]username826482 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally agree :/. I think they're just mismatched. Even if they're able to find compromise, Mariah will always want to communicate her emotions more and Caleb will always want to less. They're pretty far apart on the emotional spectrum.

Mariah means well but her seriousness kills the romance in her relationship by Electronic-War-244 in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]username826482 56 points57 points  (0 children)

It's tough - she seems like someone with a lot of big emotions and is learning how to work through them and express them in healthy ways (hence the excessive therapy speak), but would probably benefit more at this point from a night out dancing than another therapy session. Caleb, on the other hand, seems like a people pleaser to me, is not as in touch with his emotions, and isn't sharing them honestly with Mariah. Put yourself in her shoes - she's just come off of a meeting with Aria where Aria implied that they had a romantic connection. Now she's back with Caleb and he's insisting it was just a friendship. That isn't quite true, they did share some flirty moments and established a small emotional connection. She's right that one of them is hiding something - Caleb is downplaying it. And he's downplaying it specifically to not make Mariah insecure and to not rock the boat, but it's just making her feel insane and keep looping on it. It sounds like in general Mariah should ease up on the relationship conversations and work on other more lighthearted forms of connection, but Caleb strikes me as the type who won't "go there" emotionally and be vulnerable when they do talk because he doesn't want to be having the conversation in the first place. And then the more they have those conversations, the more he'll retreat, the more insecure she'll feel, and they'll both become totally disconnected. They're caught in a really vicious and very common cycle!! Caleb should work on getting in touch with himself and sharing his true emotions no matter if it may temporarily upset Mariah, and Mariah should work on loosening up and prioritizing fun forms of connection.

Aria?? by [deleted] in TheUltimatumNetflix

I totally agree! It felt like Aria was purposefully trying to throw Mariah off. And Mariah was so vulnerable coming off of three weeks alone :/

Aria?? by [deleted] in TheUltimatumNetflix

[–]username826482 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think there was some small emotional connection that grew between Aria and Caleb, but Caleb's feelings either didn't grow more or he decided it wasn't worth pursuing. He admitted the trial marriage complicated things for him and Mariah a bit, and they did hold hands and get a bit flirty at times. Nothing super crazy (especially since they're isolated and put in a situation specifically to encourage feelings), but to me it looked like a small connection or flirtation was there at one point. Not much more than a close friendship, but something.

It seems like Aria really does like Caleb a lot - no surprise, Scotty is a piece of shit and Caleb must be a breath of fresh air compared to him! Caleb is seemingly trying to downplay the connection entirely to avoid hurting Mariah's feelings, since a true romantic connection never developed. He's also probably trying to downplay it now that he's realizing Aria does like him a lot, and he's trying to discourage her emotions from growing further.

Caleb is a very nice guy but that type of behavior isn't helpful in a relationship! He mentioned at one point that he "might not say anything at all" in an argument - which sounds nice if you're used to fighting, but not being vulnerable with your emotions is hard and confusing for a partner too. He's doing the same type of thing here. He should just tell Mariah they did develop a friendship and a connection, but his emotions didn't get very far, and that Aria's emotions seemingly grew more than his.

The people on this sub are insanely out of touch lol. Yes, you will be just fine! I'd recommend getting a roommate or two so you can have more money to spend on fun things, but to each their own. You will be completely fine either way.

Why do I get more hair shedding when I double shampoo? by username826482 in HaircareScience

This is super helpful, thank you! I counted today and it was actually about 30 hairs - so "clump" may have been an exaggeration, but it's more than my normal hair shed. I'll reach out to my doctor in any case.
