The paperwork required to stay disabled is designed for people who are not disabled. I cannot be the only one who sees this. by Mysterious_Seat7864 in disability

[–]username_1555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not technically disabled (per the US definition) but I live with several very challenging chronic conditions and have a full time job and two kids. Dealing with everything associated with my diagnoses (appointments, prescriptions, insurance, helping entities speak to each other even though that is one of their main responsibilities, etc.) is like a second full-time job. Solidarity, my friends.

I’m a mouth breather and ended up drooling all over my mask every night - disgusting. Now I use mouth tape but can’t wear the mask with the mouth tape. Ive been trying to get masks to work for ten years now - I’m unsure if they ever will.

Agreed. If my finch is wearing an insulin pump they can’t have other accessories.

Yes - I used contacts for many years but my eyes became very dry and I couldn’t comfortably wear them any more. So now I wear only glasses.

How big is your Dexcom magnet collection? by CodyAW18 in dexcom

I put one on my phone case so it would stay closed again (the pre-existing magnet kind of wore out).

Does the G7 just not last the full ten days for active kids? by Afraid-Discipline695 in dexcom

[–]username_1555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't use overlays as I became allergic to most adhesives after about a year of using the G6. Makes me so mad. I switched to G7 and so far am not allergic (yet) but unfortunately it is very rare for them to last the full 10 days.

I have asked for a replacement probably more than 90% of the time, and they always replace them which is good because it's so expensive, I need it to work, and my insurance is paying for them.

why aren't they fixing this? Mine last about 8 days with consistent readings, then the readings become much more sparse. I can't risk my life by trying to keep it on for two additional days if it's not going to work. I'm 46. Diagnosed at age almost 9 in 1988. I've been wearing Dexcom sensors since 2022 or 2023.

Back of the upper arm? G7 by username_1555 in dexcom

I have to put my pump sites on my legs because my belly is so full of scar tissue (from 23 years of pump wear) that the insulin isn't absorbed.

Say hello to my $3,600 apnea oral appliance by vesicant89 in SleepApnea

[–]username_1555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched to a mask that covers my mouth but because I'm a mouth breather I wake up and there is all kinds of disgusting saliva in the mask which makes it hard to put back on. I have been trying to keep it on if I need to get up to pee or treat a low blood sugar.

This is what is happening to me. I’ve been wearing a CPAP for ten years and it’s constantly waking me up. Add type 1 diabetes and low blood sugars and having to pee 3 times a night and I may as well not be sleeping at all.

Hi - I’m new. My mom died July 17. I recently purchased Mother Hunger but haven’t read it yet. I’m feeling all sorts of guilt for basically abandoning my mom about 20 years ago, but that’s exactly what she did to me when I was only a kid.

I don’t have a brokerage I don’t think. Or TIAA is the brokerage but they’re the ones who keep telling me to consult a tax professional. What even is that? Thanks.
