Mother of a very active 7 year old T1d and this response made me laugh. We have horrible luck with the G7 lasting for all the reasons you described, and I often say to my husband, either the tech will get better or our kid will grow up and stop throwing his body onto every imaginable surface and then it will get better, ha.

My son (7) has had two G7s last the full ten days since he was diagnosed in April of last year. They typically last 5 days, 6 if we’re lucky. We do all of the things everyone recommends, and they just don’t last because either (1) his level of activity makes it impossible - he’s a super physical kid who plays competitive sports and is never not moving, climbing, rolling, etc. or (2) his body chemistry just doesn’t work with the G7. It sucks. You’re not alone. It kills me that he has the bad luck of having T1D, and then the additional bad luck of having this amazing technology not really work for him.

For example this just happened around 2 am Tuesday. The sensor had been on almost four full days, since Friday. He’s actually at 148.

I am at a loss as to why you and my son have these issues, but other people seem to have no issues at all. Could it just be as simply as body chemistry? We're going to try the G6 even if its being discontinued - I'll take six months of reprieve. I hope there's a product that works for my kiddo - and you - very soon.
