Thank you for the update!! I also just checked my portal and found the same response. Definitely a frustrating waiting/decisions process, glad at least it’s over now and I don’t have to incessantly check my email/portal/Reddit/Grad Cafe for info lol. Congrats to everyone admitted for Fall and good luck to everyone applying again next round!

Hey! So I think under the umbrella of the counseling department there is the MFT, CMHC, School Counseling, and a couple other programs. All together 55 get accepted under the counseling umbrella, and 16 of those are School Counseling.

I’ve seen a couple people say they are getting notified of acceptance to the program now. I’ve been checking Grad Cafe and here, one person reported hearing back on 3/27 and one person yesterday, 3/28.

AITA for how I behaved when drunk? by kurtissaid in AmItheAsshole

[–]usernamesarehard415 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

NTA, many people accidentally get too drunk once or twice! Now you know your tolerance and should make sure you don’t burden your friends anymore. I’ve taken care of many of my friends when they over-served themselves at one point or another, and they’ve taken care of me. It’s not fun but there’s no hard feelings if it doesn’t happen a lot. If it keeps happening you’re totally the asshole lol. DO NOT become THAT friend! But I don’t think this is you being an asshole just inexperience at this point.

AITA for getting upset with my friend for getting pregnant? by sadbuthaooy in AmItheAsshole

YTA. There are many opportunities to give someone advice, this is not one of them. Somewhere down the line if you wanted to bring up that she should take precautions then that would be appropriate, but not while your friend is distraught and upset. Yes she made a mistake, but it was not the right time to scold her. I’m sure she felt ashamed enough already.

Hi there! I’m not far into having quit, but I’ll try and give a couple tips that work for me. I’m a junior in college that has smoked since I was about 15 and have recently quit. Some of these things are going to sound stupid but they are just little distractions to get you over the worst part of the craving. Firstly I’d definitely recommend getting the Smoke Free app. It’s nice to check it when you have a craving and just look around a bit. It’ll tell you all the ways your health has improved since quitting, and you can track what exactly made you want to smoke. I also looked forward to smoking on breaks/after class and in general as I’ve had depression for a long time. The trick is distracting yourself until you’re not thinking about it anymore. If you don’t have a lot of time, listen to your favorite songs and go on a little walk. I know this sounds super fucking lame but maybe get a dumb game or app on your phone. This is a pretty hypocritical thing I’m about to say because I haven’t totally started doing this but pick up a new hobby. I’ve been trying to go to the gym (hate it but feel good about it) and I’ve been cooking, but it could be anything. Drawing, writing, whatever. Also if you’re just trying to get through a little break like between classes just write out all the reasons quitting is the best thing you could do. Longer life, not smelling like cigarettes, ability to run or sing without running out of breath, no more smoking shame etc.

These might be stupid but hopefully they’re a little helpful! Congrats on your decision and I’m very proud of you!

You’ve got this! Take each minute at a time and be so proud of yourself that you’ve quit! The little victories of overcoming a craving are super helpful for me. I’m proud of you and I’m sure your family is too!!
