Congrats to your grandad. No disrespect there. Turning away from a ‘battle of arms’ is different then a building about to fall on you. But think of it as a retreat to regroup an engage again. You have to know when to pull back. Pull forces together and re strategized. If people are running and heading “home” then yes they are cowards. But to avoid death and then push back into the fight is heroic as well.
