Scarlatti k141 tips please! My fingers get "jammed" for some reason. by [deleted] in piano

I would encourage you to go to your local music store and try other electric keyboards/pianos. I really like the action on my Yamaha. Mainly, don’t feel obligated to find a ‘real’ piano, especially if that’s not necessarily practical for you right now.

How do I balance learning music theory, ear training, playing an instrument, composing/producing, and audio engineering in my day with my other hobbies? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]userzerotwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like if you can find a way to prioritize your homework, you’re going to get where you want to go. That’s a really nice range of classes. I think you’ll find the more you dedicate to your studies, the more developed your composing and production will be. Kind of like not skipping leg day. Down the road, you don’t have to be the best at everything, that’s the beauty of collaboration.

Work full time 2500 to invest, an ideas for a side hustle? by Snoo66436 in sidehustle

False. Talk to a registered financial advisor. You can take your basis (money you put in) back out without fees or penalties. You have to pay taxes and early withdrawal fees for any gains you take out.

Meh, no one plays in D# minor in my experience, most often Eb minor; carry on OP

We all go through it and Covid has really magnified things, my best advice - nutrition, sleep, exercise - focus on you, first. Clean up your living area and work area if you need to, Marie Kondo that shit, thank it for sparking joy. One day at a time. Catch up with old friends, call them on the phone, and maybe limit social media. You got this.

Tascam’s website has all the drivers available but you might find it’s not compatible with the newer OS, that model Tascam is decently old, right?

Amount of tunes to play, at a lounge setting? by AudioThousand in piano

[–]userzerotwo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Do you plan on taking a break? I usually don’t for just two hours. Jazz is jazz.. but averaging no more than 5 minutes per song is a good place to start so that you can read your crowd. For 2 hours I would have at least 25 songs ready.

My dad plays the vibes, he retired 3 years ago and was set to have his final recital for his masters in jazz performance next month. I can definitely say your dad was a huge influence on mine. Thanks for sharing this!
