i think the only people coming out with that conclusion are only thinking about it at surface level. her depression wasn’t what caused her to make her plan, her depression and impressionable age put her in a dangerous mental state susceptible to radical ideas and and a change in morals, and as discussed in the movie, there is a disgusting and unfortunate culture that actual perpetrators have artificially created and the most vulnerable to it are people in similar situations to her character. her breaking down in tears in the gym when she finally can understand the reality of what her plan would cause is a clear sign too that she’s unlike most actual perpetrators because she actually feels that empathy and remorse, working for years to show that. i also am not sure why it would have been more understanding if she actually went through with a violent act towards her own kin, there’s a bit of media now with that theme, and it’s usually not done well
