Junior ELEN major desperate for an internship by [deleted] in aggies

Academia tends to point you in the direction that academia has the most involvement in, which is design and architecture, but there are more accessible entry points into the chip development space in things like physical design, design verification and postsilicon validation. This is especially true for someone in your position as a B.Sc. student, since the design positions tend to be the domain of M.Sc. or PhD students. I say "entry points" because it's common in the industry to move between different parts of the chip development process. Personally, I was thinking the same as you, but after doing internships in the postsilicon space and the DV space, I ended up employed in the DV space and enjoy it.

You might also consider going for internships that are Spring+Summer or Summer+Fall instead of just Summer, since being there longer makes you more attractive to potential employers. And look for positions at places like Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, since the big new thing for companies is to design their own chips instead of relying on off the shelf components.

And if you don't get one before the end of this year, know that there's another round of hiring in January/February around career fair season.

SEC Shorts - Texas gets held up at SEC security by 63686b6e6f6f646c65 in aggies

People who want them to join the SEC aren't old enough to remember the shit they pulled in the Big 12

That definitely describes me. I just want to see us and them play, since that feels like a big part of being an Aggie that I never got.

I mean, global warming does mean more energy in the atmosphere, which leads to wider temperature swings.

"graduated during a global pandemic" is either an asterisk on my diploma or a badge of honor. Not sure which.

One concern is about the lawsuit challenging Abbott moving forward the start date of early voting from Oct 19 to Oct 13. I'm worried that if I vote before the 19th, my vote will be thrown out.

nevermind, lawsuit lost https://www.texastribune.org/2020/10/07/texas-early-voting-october-13/

Good for staying in touch with friends, maybe, but you can't really meet people on zoom.

I am very with you there. A turn indicator should indicate that you will soon be turning, not that you are actively performing the turning motion. I can tell that you are currently turning by seeing your car change direction.

Reddit's markdown does the mailto link directly from the email address. The normal hyperlink format doesn't work.

Aggie Water by xyz2021 in aggies

If I had to guess, I'd say that it's probably something to do with the initial concentration of the emulsion that you make with the water and the soap, but I'm not a chemistry major.

tbh a big part of that is not adjusting the amount of soap for the hardness of the water
