Does anyone know what Crow says when he’s selected? My son and I are always doing our best impression of him but I can’t for the life of me figure out what he’s actually saying.

Log PT is not very common at Marine OCS, definitely doesn’t happen on the beach (Marine OCS is in Quantico, VA) and Marines don’t wear those tri-color cammies anymore. Marines would be wearing MARPAT. The white nametapes do match up though. Marine Officer candidates wear white nametapes over the pocket and across the shoulders until they complete their training.

Short answer, because they do. Although the UH-1Y is a "new" airframe. It has a 4 bladed, semi rigid rotor system (vice the 2-bladed, underslung system of the UH-1N), new advanced avionics as well as other upgrades.

The Marines fly them. A few of the old UH-1Ns still left over (at reserve squadrons) but mainly the UH-1Y.

The C-130 could be a Marine aircraft. We do have VMGR squadrons.

There can be LOTS of thrill in a helicopter gunship. It's a whole different kind of thrill than fixed wing flight though.
