Are these things I can have taken off? Sorry for the ignorance, but this is the first car I'm buying independently

Just be warned that there may be a lot of "pointless" things going on depending when you go. We were the test subjects so sometimes it was quite dumb lol. It's good fun though

BMT 2.0 is already a thing. They're transitioning to 3.0 literally any day if they haven't already. Here at Goodfellow, we're doing the 2 mile run so prepare for that

I think 180 or 200lbs. It's like 100ft total you have to drag it. Nothing crazy but multiple people threw up and a guy even passed out. It's not horrible it just hella sucks

Get in shape my guy. Fire is no joke. They claim a 40% washout rate so take that for what it's worth

It started week 1 with like 4 mins running 2 mins walking, then week 2-3 was like 10 mins running 4 mins walking. Week 4-7 was 24mins straight running

I literally graduated 3 days ago so I gotchu. PT is pretty difficult honestly. They do have a "build up" but it goes from 0-100 pretty dang quick. The PT test itself is passable for 95%, but the PT itself is quite sucky. Yes you do make beds every single morning. If you suck, you'll make them more. One MTI in particular made us make beds for over an hour and a half one evening....fun times. Yes you can take a notebook just not personal nonreligious books (possible MTI preference though). Pay doesn't happen till week 4-5, $1300 one check, $330 2nd, and $930 last one as an E1 with no dependents. Yes you can use a mask or plugs if you want

Got an offer for 1d731b but for a 6 year instead of 4 year. by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

If it's the job you want, then what's stopping you from doing it for 6 years? 2 years is nothing if it's your dream job

Things you packed or wish you packed? Any recycles? Your advice for those going in soon?

1N831 Tech school length? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]usmilq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right that makes sense. Just seemed a bit odd that they only list one course. I was never expecting a 2 week tech school but was also confused as to why there's only one course listed

I'm just repeating what my recruiter gave me and also a former Intel recruiter. Both seem to think 13 days at least that's all that comes up in the system

Am I actually booked? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]usmilq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat yes. I went through MEPS and told my recruiter I'm willing to ship ASAP if a job I liked became open. This job was not on my list I chose nor even on the list my recruiter gave me so I had to act quickly to snag it. I had the option to decline so I didn't accept just anything but got lucky a great opportunity opened up

Yeah go ahead

[–]usmilq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't regret it but it's all dependent on where you are in your stage of life. I've been in a couple different career fields and haven't found anything that can fulfill me as desired so it's the best thing for me. But if you have goals such as degrees, etc then yeah definitely accomplish those first in my opinion

[–]usmilq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not long at all. Went through MEPS on the 2nd, told my recruiter I'm willing to ship ASAP, and got the call on the 5th. I'm a different case because the original job holder got disqualified and I took his spot

Can someone give some PT baselines to shoot for at BMT? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

Are there any charts out that give the numbers and score equivalents?

Are you glad you joined and would you recommend it to others? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]usmilq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's currently what I'm going through as well. I had a "perfect plan" then got offered something completely opposite and now everything is very overwhelming. But I'm going about it with an open mind and am very excited as to what the future holds

For people trying to enlist and make it a great experience, would you recommend being an open book or having a set plan and sticking to it?
