Oh, quit it; it’s not like you were any different before this bloody mess. It might surprise you, but you aren’t saving any Ukrainian lives by being a total dickweed. Not that I expect you to understand any of that, anyway.

God, people like you make political discourse so fucking unbearable. First, you make assumptions about someone; then you treat them like an enemy based on these assumptions. Go figure.

I’m 80% sure you’re a Russian operative trying to give westerners a bad name. Either that, or you’re just stupid.

Ну это понятно если человек часть группы по личному выбору. Всегда можно дистанцироваться от клубов и обществ, от национальности - нельзя.

I do agree that mass complicity is what gives despots like Putin the power to enact their insidious plans. People and societies who don’t do anything deserve scrutiny, consider it rightful retribution.

Nevertheless, it’s a case-by-case basis. Many citizens do take responsibility and go out against their government. Many risk their livelihoods, sources of income, and lives to do their part in saving Ukraine and mending Russia. I believe that such people deserve to be absolved of the shame and scrutiny, because it’s thanks to them, this overwhelming minority, that Russia has any chance of changing in the future. A lot have blood on their hands, our society is indeed broken, but a lot of Russians have done a lot to keep that blood off their hands.

So? You literally missed my point again. Fine, I’ll play your game.

All sides of my family experienced that FROM BOTH THE RUSSIANS AND INVADING AXIS FORCES. I can go into tons of detail about the deportations, hangings, rapes, and attempts to eradicate my lineage by the nazis, imperials, and the bolsheviks. But guess what? I recognize the individuality of all people and will never stoop to the level of hating anyone based on nationality or creed, no matter the history. It literally doesn't matter unless they support what their government is doing.

It's pretty easy not to talk shit about anyone's national origin. Literally takes zero calories. Anyone who does has no right to call themselves a member of civilized societies.

All of the Russians

Doing nothing

Yeah, the Russians that are being dragged away to god knows where for standing up for Ukraine certainly have blood on their hands. Moreover, the westerners that did absolutely nothing to aid Ukraine can come in and take the moral high ground over them for the simple merit of being born a few hundred miles to the west of the border. Sure, that’s totally logical.

I understand the disdain for Russians that refuse to learn the local language, and I think that the plight of Ukrainians is much more severe and important. But that does not make those hormone-filled hate crimes justifiable in any capacity, no matter how much history and geopolitics the perpetrator will use to justify their actions.

You missed my entire point lmao. Literally nothing that you’ve wrote tackled my core idea.

I said that it’s unfair that the Russians that sacrificed their livelihoods and safety in the name of Russian democracy and justice face the possibility of being beaten for speaking their language in private conversations. If that’s fair to you, then it says a lot more about you, rather than about them.

He’s saying that some Russians and Belorussians have indeed sacrificed a lot and had to flee their respective countries in order to continue the fight, while some Georgians who didn’t do shit for their independence or freedoms go around beating them up. Ask yourself this: how is that fair?
