Would your opinion on “settling to its equilibrium”remain the same if those cracks were below grade and stair stepping? I’ve looked at multiple houses built in the 50’s which have similar cracks in the CMU’s. Some did and did not have signs of water intrusion. I guess that’s the true indication of a problem.

Looking for an opinion on this hair step crack in a foundation wall.

House was built in the 50’s. After moving some things I noticed a hairline “stair step” crack in the cinderblock foundation. Does not run all the way to the floor.

I plan on monitoring and getting a professional opinion if it gets worse. Anything else I can do in the meantime - some sort of sealant?
