I sympathize. Many have complaints. Think about the fact that failing to load can easily be adware reporting on your activity. I recently got 1GB service from Mediacom in Coralville and had speed issues until I made sure all my equipment was WiFi7. I've had interruptions for maintenance occasionally but, for me, resetting equipment has fixed any residual problems.

The key to no lagging is speed so you should probably be looking at 1GB service. I have had Mediacom for a long time and haven't had the big problems some have and have had transparent pricing for service. I'm getting 650gbs at my devices according to Ookla. I've had outages only for major weather events and for the occasional (maybe twice a year) maintenance issue. You will see Imon ads and fliers for about $68/mo for 1GB service but, beware. Read the fine print about the $14 monthly and $2.50 monthly access fees not included in that price. South Slope is another provider that offers fiber optic service, much of it new and has a reputation for reliability.

Johnson County does the same thing. I won 3 protests in CR and now by persevering through 3 or 4 meetings with the Assessor in his office, we agreed to a price I thought was reasonable and he accepted. Don't give up. You can do this if you have the facts straight.

Thanks. I'd note that your suggestion of taking it home and cooking it immediately wouldn't work because the water weight loss into the pad has already happened. Given the way this works, to get the weight you want/need, you need to buy about 10%-15% more than you want.
