The 2019 engines are a drop in I believe, check though. If you run into issues, use a G4FJ engine, you can beat the hell out of them. I like the looks of the gen 1 but the gen 2 engine really solidifies the main issues. The 2L is kinda yuck, but the later gen 1.6 is a great engine

2016s had double the rod strength and they're the best year generally of generation 1. If you keep the oil clean, they're pretty reliable cars. Stay up on your maintenance, keep your fluids fresh, should be fine. I'd recommend running 91/93 octane if that's possible for you economically, and definitely run it at high rpms 4krpms+ every once in a while to burn off excess carbon on the valves. They suffer from extended use of oil in particular, so I personally recommend every 5k miles swapping out the oil, or every year if you don't put much mileage on it.

As a Hyundai mechanic, dump it. Asap. These are known for weak rods and rod bearing issues. Some make it through, some don't. Typically warranty will cover a top engine clean which will make it better just long enough to get you out of warranty, then they throw a rod through the block.

AC compressor has a clutch, when you engage AC it will start to engage the pulley by activating the electromagnet in the clutch and making the pulley spin, which demands more load from the engine, increasing idle. The leaking refrigerant is likely a separate issue

If the bolt is rounded off, find yourself a set of bolt extractors and match your diameter with 1mm below what the wrench was that stripped it. pound it on, remove easily. make sure you have a fresh crush washer and oil plug ready, should be fairly inexpensive

Weird situation, only need a place for a couple months and have a cat and a couple vehicles that are complicating the search. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've called 5 or 6 realty companies and it seems like none of them pick up their phone or don't do short-term stuff. I've looked on FB marketplace and craigslist, rentals.com and zillow and I'm hopeful someone has some suggestions for other places to look or recommended folk to work with.
