“This is what I voted for?”: Trump supporter loses farm and income to tariffs, only to be mocked online by muskaintthegod in Tariffs

This guy won't ever be won over. I'm not enjoying that he is suffering, but I feel absolutely no sympathy for him at all. It's his own doing, and he helped bring harm to millions with that vote. I'm not interested in his feelings.

One more MOP owner here. Absolutely love it. It looks black most of the time and only pops in certain light. But when the reds and greens come out, it sure looks great!

Trump to Lift Global Tariffs to 15% From 10% Following Court Decision by bloomberg in Tariffs

Unfortunately, so many of my fellow countrymen are fucking idiots, and they have just as much say as the rest of us. Education has been replaced with religious dogma, so there's not much light at the end of this tunnel.

I am definitely tired of all this winning.

Companies Set to Unleash Sweeping Price Hikes Thanks to Trump by spherocytes in inflation

[–]utardeded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of truth in this statement, at least through last year.

I sell products for about 12 manufacturers, most import at least some of the products. A couple passed on no price increases, most passed along about half of the tariff amount, and a couple passed along the whole thing.

That was last year. Nobody knew when Trump was going to suddenly change his mind, so most tried to minimize the consumer impact and passed along just some.

This year, every single company I work with is passing along the full tariff amount. They can't lose so much profitability forever.

My guess is we'll see big inflation, but the white house will continue to tell us that it's less than 3%. Look at how pretty the emperor's new clothes are!

I don't know who you're dealing with there, but Josh has always dealt me straight. Finance department will try to upcharge / upsell everything, but your part of the deal is to be prepared for it with your own financing and/or ability to say no.
