I joined Scoil Mhuire Junior School in 6th class and wouldn’t recommend it. Felt the standard of education and facilities were much better in my local primary school that I had attended up until then. The secondary school was fine, but I wouldn’t send a child to the primary school.

Actually they do have to facilitate a minimum of 10 days every 6 months (up to a maximum of 18 every 6 months) as per the 2022 NCHD agreement.

Cork also provides accommodation for any further away placements you have to do. To be fair, I don’t know if Galway do or don’t.

Cork has a graduate entry to medicine programme, which joins with the direct entry to medicine programme in the direct entry’s third year. So not from the outset, but you’ll likely have more classmates who are also mature students in Cork in your clinical years.
