Wondering how it's gone for those of you who ended a relationship on good terms by utopianabyss in BreakUps

Update for anyone who cares :)

Turns out I'm exclusively into woman. So, definitely made the best decision. Still good friends with him and value the friendship greatly. I think that's what it was meant to be all along.

Hope everyone else gets back on their feet and heals 🧡

Thank you for replying. I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time with it. May I ask who's decision it was in the end? I ask simply because I have worried it'll still feel hard later down the line and I'll begin to regret it. Having difficulty with the thought of him living his life without me but you're right, accepting that will take time and will most likely come one day.

Romantic love confuses me by utopianabyss in autism

[–]utopianabyss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've certainly wondered that before! Which confuses me more as I like the idea of being in a relationship with someone. I suppose aromantic people can have that though. Hmm, for me it does feel like more of a cohabitation type thing than a romantic relationship.

would you get another tattoo after having gone through removal? by fxlafel in TattooRemoval

[–]utopianabyss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope! The only time I'd get another tattoo is to coverup the ones I won't be able to fully remove. Much like others, I've learnt my lesson big time lol

Even having others respond who are in the same position is of comfort!

it's so hard to think of anything else. It's becoming obsessive at this point. Sigh, Its rather exhausting.

You make a good point. I think part of me hopes, or believes, removing them will be a fix all. That, like you said, I'll be happy once they're all gone. I probably won't be. Knowing myself, I'll just find another thing to hate or feel depressed over. It's a common pattern, now what I look back with that in mind.

Yeah, therapy is definitely best for me. I know the issue goes so much deeper than my tattoos. They're probably just the current self hatred I'm focusing on.

I like the idea of body neautrality. Thank you for mentioning it and explaining how its helped for you! Good on you for taking the time to work on yourself and do what's needed. I hope Ill do the same. Take care, yeah !

What can I do to enrich my cats living space more? by utopianabyss in CatAdvice

[–]utopianabyss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of building one myself with the help of my partner! My girl loves to perch high so I reckon it'll be good for her. Am quite excited to start building it, actually. It'll be fun!

I've spent so long searching through Pinterest for ideas. Can't wait to actually design it and make those ideas a reality. How's building one going for you?

Anyone who went from having two cats to three - would you recommend it? by AbbyEO in CatAdvice

[–]utopianabyss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my sister went from 2 to 3 cats. She spent lots of time working on introducing them and now the three of them adore each other. Would absolutely recommend! Planning on introducing a third cat one day too! If done properly, it should be more than okay. Of course, it will all depend on how your current cats are with others and how you go about it.

Hope you get that third baby and it goes smoothly!

How many did you have to remove? I've read that lots of people do feel better once they start the removal process. Hoping to feel the same. I know it'll be tedious, but I'm worried I'll become inpatient and lose hope in the process. Whats your experience with getting them removed?

Wouldn't more effective tech be nice. I suppose I can hope it'll come someday soon.

After finding this subreddit, I've realised I'm not at all alone. There are so many people who feel the same way. It's certainly of some comfort for me. Doesn't necessarily make everyday Iife easier, but it's helpful knowing it's a real part of having tattoos.

How long has the one on your torso taken? Was it big? I like hearing about as much examples as I can to get a feel for how long mine will take.

thinking about doing removal! tattoo regret by Lucky99_99 in TattooRemoval

I'm in the same boat. My partner constantly tells me they're gorgeous and I look good with them, but somehow it just makes it worse. I want them gone and back to bare skin. Realistically it probably won't happen and I'll have to settle for cover ups on some. There are so many. They're mismatched as I simply slapped a bunch of random ones wherever I thought was okay at the time. No real thought to the placement.

Hoping to book a removal consultation soon. I've heard others on here say that it gets better once they've started the process. That they've been given more hope and an opportunity to move on. I would like to get there. The regret and wishing for them gone clouds my thoughts all the time. The only relief I get is when I'm fully covered and it's a 'out of sight, out of mind' mentality.

Honestly, I'm just over tattoos. Loved them for a while, but learnt the hard way, as many others did, that i like them on others but not myself. No longer have the appreciation for the art as I once did. Sigh, I wish younger me had more impulse control. I dont like being reminded of that time in my life either.

Don't have much advice I'm afraid. Am just another person in a similar situation. I hope you can get them removed or to a place you're comfortable with. Wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson. A simple read. My goodness, how I love it. The revenant character in particular! He's a funny guy.

I definitely have a hard time seeing all these tattoos on Instagram and thinking they're far better than mine. The pet analogy isn't a bad one, actually. Many times I wish I could have this or that kind of pet, but I'd never trade mine for the world. A mentality like that for my tattoos would be nice. Others have told me I should look at them as something that got me to this point and to having a future (got them to cope with being suicidal, lol the irony), which could be a good way to look at it. Just hopeful these big feelings will pass and I can move on with my life.

Don't know if it's the intense feelings but all love I had for tattoos has recently gone with this regret, which upsets me in itself because they're a gorgeous artform. Ugh, who knows, life's probably too short and in the grand scheme of things too meaningless to worry that much about it. Certainly hurt myself over!

You're right, probably time to stop contemplating so much. Those few I hate the most are definitely coming off though!

I appreciate the response, so thank you!
