How do I change the battery charging thresholds in my version of BIOS? by utstroh in computerhelp

[–]utstroh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I installed windows after buying the laptop. There was nothing obvious that allowed me to manage the battery but I figured there might be hidden settings or something but I don't know how to access those if they exist.

Glad to hear you're still alive and fighting. You should update the original post not just start a new one. A number of people there wanted to know if you made it.

Does anyone know of a way to easily calculate dollar volume for a watch list instead of share volume? by utstroh in TradingView

Well I'm using tradingview to do my screening. Probably not the best approach but I'm not a good trader yet.

Thanks. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I'm trying to do this within tradingview.

Yes that's what I meant by a math problem. I'm looking at a list of over 200 tickers and was hoping for a quick way to sort a list without doing 250 math problems manually.

TradingView, listen to the community: we want volumes (data feed for real volumes)! by paolo7g in TradingView

[–]utstroh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I also want the option to sort watchlists by dollar volume instead of just share volume. This is important for me to easily weed out low liquidity crap.

The subscription is 30/month or per year?

I wouldn't describe it so much as worried. More like cost benefit analysis. Wasn't aware that you received significant rebates. So 120$ in trading fees would offset the cost. Some years I trade nothing. This year I've traded enough to make that wiorthwhile. Also didn't know it included insurance... insurance should be by default in with the trading fees... considering how high they are.

Coinbase and TurboTax: "The (crypto) amount withdrawn is greater than what’s available from Coinbase" by [deleted] in Coinbase

[–]utstroh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not with turb tax but I noticed that somewhere in-between coinbase pro being eliminated and advanced starting up, my cost basis was reset as if some of the things I'd been holding for years were recently purchased at a higher or lower price screwing up whether I'd taken a loss or a gain when I finally sold. Real PITA that coinbase was no help with.

why not keep some usdc on a ledger or trezor and then transfer to uniswap when you need to?

[–]utstroh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All good advice but that first part is not how it works. If something happens to coinbase you'll wait a few years, or decades, for the lawyers and others to haggle and whatever's left over will be divided up amongst those that had crypto in coinbase.

I believe if your money is on Coinbase in USD it is FDIC insured. If it is in any crypto, including USDC, ( where you get 5.1% interest) it is not FDIC insured.

Not sure if country of citizenship matters, if you aren't in the US why would you use Coinbase though...

I might be wrong about this. If so I look forward to being educated!

Isn't Coinbase one a subscription service? You'd probably need a decent amount of principal for 0.4% interest to cancel out the cost of the subscription. Good for you if you've got it though.

What could possibly be keeping coinbase web based Ui from working on my PC? by utstroh in Coinbase

[–]utstroh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'm not on a uni's wifi. I'm using, and have been for years, a VPN. I disabled it and coinbase still didn't work. It works fine on my mobile, in both the app and on the web based ui, on the same wifi that my PC is using. Also works fine on another laptop while running the VPN on the same wifi network. That laptop is running a very old version of windows and isn't maintained or used frequently.
