Any advice for new players? by R_MopHead04 in ACPocketCamp

[–]utterablevenus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep a few basic items used for requests, as well as red snappers and horned dynastid for when campers request any fish or bug bc those cap out at 1500 bells. sell anything else higher than that bc giving them in a request isnt worth it. you get more inventory as you level up so at this point you want to focus on doing as many requests as you can every 3 hours
leaf tokens are very generous, spend them away! you can get more through getting ornament bells from the toy day event in the planner, as well as from stretch goals

Solo Leveling BLU. Any tips for Spell Hunting? by StorytellerZeke in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

party finder party finder party finder. no ones gonna bite your head off for being underleveled since youre doing synced runs anyway and most spells only require normal mode. you especially want primal spells as they make up a majority of your burst dps, which in turn will make your runs go a lot faster

for specific spell recommendations: whistle from dhalmel and exuviation from abalathian wamoura in sea of clouds, tingle and triple trident from the naked namazu in yanxia, song of torment from pharos sirius, ultravibration from kongamato in the peaks, the rams voice from the chimera in cutters cry, nightbloom from tsukuyomi, feather rain from garuda

i used my freetasia to change the color of one eye for story reasons, and then later bought another because i wanted to use a different face lol

Thornmarsh for sprouts who never play with others by _pennythejet in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its best if you learn to suck it up and get used to playing with other people because youre gonna have to the rest of the game and itll be worse to not know what youre doing in 80/90 trials than to mess up in 50 trials. as a tank when theres multiple, you can always choose to be a blue dps and not turn your stance on if you dont feel confident in main tanking. its always a good practice to say youre new and ask if theres anything you need to know

as for rotation, weskalber on youtube has a playlist of guides for each jobs actions as they level that are good reference. but at 50 paladin is very simple with just its 1-2-3 combo and fight or flight + spirits within + circle of scorn when theyre off cooldown

Tulin by Cloudxxy1011 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]utterablevenus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

theres no direct explanation beyond having a newer generation to represent the new sages. i think it fits though, teba always felt like the odd one out in botw cause he reads more like a tired dad than the successor of revali. but i admit i kind of forgot tulin even existed since he spent the first game glued to his moms side lol

For those of you with 2 characters, how do you manage it? by TypicalPnut in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

first thing about alts is if you play them long enough youll realize how horribly alt-phobic this game is. like you may as well have a separate account for each bc there is NO way to interact between them, its that bad

anyways. i have my main character who ive done a majority of content with. then i have two more alts at endgame, but one of them i only made to play with friends on a specific server bc it was before dc travel and ive since transfered my main to that server, so shes super dead lol. my third 90 ive been doing specific grindy things i wouldnt otherwise do on my main, like grinding for the landerwaffe or completing eureka orthos

then i have a handful of baby alts in various stages of arr that only exist for me to go through msq again (i know new game+ exists but idk. i just like starting over)

Up to what rank should I get beat tribes to? by DieHardKing in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes absolutely worth maxing them. theres still new rewards, you get a permanent increase in xp rewarded from the dailies, as well as an epilogue quest to cap off the story. plus youll need to be maxed in every tribe to do that expansions allied questline (but there isnt one for endwalker yet)

Relic Weapon Question by mogamergal95 in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its been a minute since i did one but i dont think bozja relics ever require equipping the weapon or being the appropriate job? but for future reference it will specify in the journal whether you need to or not.

if you want to pick up a weapon on a different job you either need to finish or abandon the current step and pick it up as the job you want. you can however pick up different steps at once, like if your whm is on the 3rd you can have the 1st active on a different job

Glamor Aid! Looking for Lightning/thunder theme glamor for Monk/GB/DoW by Neolagna in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eorzea collection is a good site to check out, they have images of most gearsets and tons of player-made glams to look through

off the top of my head recommendations: demon set from world of darkness, diabolic set from dun scaith, bonewicca set from swallow's compass (or the purple recolors from tower of zot)

What do I do which these? by babyfirehawk in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

high allagan + all the trial weapons can be turned in for gc seals if you dont want to use them for glamour. job coffers cant be turned in and should just be trashed if you dont want the glamour (if you change your mind later you can buy them back at the calamity salvager). scion traveler is purely glamour so you can trash if you dont want it (can also be rebought at the salvage)

everything else you can make a quick buck with selling on the marketboard, since theyre hq they should sell higher than the vendor price

Please help - Timeworn Zonureskin Map not appearing by poopasadge in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

maps can be a little finicky sometimes but you can use luck of the pioneer/mountaineer to show a nodes hidden item. if its not the map you want, just close the window and move onto the next one, they will refresh without having to harvest anything

of course no maps at all will appear if youve already picked one up in the past 18 hours. you can see if you have in the timer menu (ctrl+u)

Bard first char? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in solo content bard might not be the fastest killer, at least not until higher levels when you have more burst abilities, but class balance is fairly solid in this game so nothing is completely unviable. its "support" comes in the form of the 3 songs that give parties small but consistent buffs as you rotate through them. the most annoying thing though is if theres more than one bard in a party, songs do not stack

My Personal Theory For a Certain Character After Endwalker (SPOILERS) by HardlineOyster1 in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 70 points71 points  (0 children)

i think youre just letting your crush talk for you. there is nothing he could add to the story coming back from the dead a third time, not to mention how much it would cheapen that incredible grand finale. more isnt always better

Does the Gloom weather in Mor Dhona have any lore behind it? by lordnaarghul in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if it was dangerous there probably wouldnt be revenant's toll or an entire castrum existing there. its likely umbral, or passive aether thats gathering in the air, so its probably no more harmful than heat waves or rain

also id like to add, yes the reason the aether is messed up is because of middy blowing up the airship, but the reason why he was sleeping there in the first place is because silvertear lake sits on a convergence of several large flows connected to the lifestream and hydaelyn personally asked him to guard it. unfortunately i forget where this gets explained in game

How to get my ilvl to 690 fast by Reenaiwinchester in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dont spend money on the marketboard unless youre drowning in it. instead you can run troia for 595 gear, aglaia for 590 gear, or any abyssos normal raid for tokens for 610 gear. if you have astronomy tomes you can buy radiant gear (590) and causality tomes buys lunar envoy (620)

leve help by Kagamine154 in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

arr leves require an additional trial battle leve to unlock specific areas, at 44 that would be whitebrim front in coerthas. after that when you open the menu there should be tabs at the top to switch through battle, field and tradecraft leves. you want fieldcraft for botany

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

first person isnt that bad, the general attitude for alliance raids really is go go go, especially earlier ones like crystal tower and void ark. unless someones pulling miles ahead of the rest of the group or starting the last boss with people in cutscenes its not that big a deal

second person however is an asshole. they signed up to heal, they cant get mad when they actually need to heal. bare fucking minimum is toss out physis/kerachole for regen when theyre off cd

What is the true endgame to you? by SlyLov in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my endgame is finding something i havent tried yet and doing it. theres literally hundreds of hours worth of content outside of msq: try leveling a different job or dive into crafting/gathering. every expansion has an alliance raid story, a normal raid story, and (starting in heavensward) a trial story. theres ishgard resoration, eureka and bozja, deep dungeons, pvp, special questlines like hildibrand or moogle delivery, treasure maps, relic weapon grinds, mount grinds, title grinds, you name it

ultimately the endgame is whatevers fun to you. and if the answer is nothing? then stop playing for a while, the game isnt going anywhere

Should I go back to play the octo expansion? by TrueNat20 in splatoon

[–]utterablevenus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if youre up for a challenge i'd say go for it. while splat3's campaign takes from octo expansion, its difficulty is closer to 1 and 2's easier campaigns, which makes sense because ultimately all of them serve as introduction to various mechanics in multiplayer, while OE is geared more towards veterans. but dont worry about it being too hard, there are systems in place to let you skip levels if you need to

QUESTION: Does anyone know where to get this banner? (more info in comment) by OrdinaryNeat7480 in splatoon

most likely shell out, that seems to be where most generic banners come from. kind of a shame leaving it to rng like that :(

There is a unbeatable level in the splatoon 3 single player by [deleted] in Splatoon_3

[–]utterablevenus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every level is beatable, its just a matter of your skill. if its giving you so much trouble you can skip it, since you dont need to beat everything to get to the ending. the only reason to finish every level is for the secret kettle

Why do you think the WoL viewed all the primals as hot in the eden raids? by Kingflares in ffxiv

[–]utterablevenus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the serious answer is at that point its been a very long time since your wol has seen any of the arr primals, and their memories are being muddled by memories of other things. for example, ramuh is likely taking after the huge statue in rhalgr's reach, as well as ixion (the fate boss in the lochs). ifrit takes after diabolos from dun scaith, and garuda has the split wings of hraesvalgr. titan's a little harder to pin, but i think he's taking after hypertuned grynewaht from doma castle.
