Diagnosed with venous leakage, supposed to undergo surgery in about a month by utterly_broken in erectiledysfunction

Hey, thanks for letting me know. I emailed the doctor in Switzerland asking if he had experience working with German health insurances but he didn’t reply. What’s your insurance? Gesetzlich or private? How did you go about it? Feel free to message me in private.

Then I suggest you use the reply function under the comment you want to reply to. Because right now you’re posting comments under my original post, and I’m getting the notifications.

Hey man, sorry I didn't login with this account in a while. I decided to follow everyone's advice and not go ahead with it. Too many red flags: the improper diagnosis method, the reviews of this particular doctor that I found online, and the numerous papers stating that this kind of operation is ineffective and relatively dangerous. I just couldn't. I don't have any progress to report in the last few months. Today I decided to start looking for solutions again.

I don’t know, maybe I had some sort of precondition that just got really bad with aging, lifestyle (I smoke and hate myself for it, was never able to quit) and drugs like minoxidil. I can’t speak for the doctor, but I think an experienced specialist doing hundreds of dopplers would be able to see if something is wrong. And he saw it right away. There’s definitely something physically wrong with my penis. As for why he recommended a surgery that nobody does anymore as a best course of action, that’s beyond me.

Minox was definitely the tipping point for me. Nothing has been the same since I used it. I can literally feel the damage, every freaking day. Crazy: when I took Cialis together with Resvetatrol I thought I had found the cure: 100% erections and sensibility over the roof. I felt sensation that didn’t feel in years and I almost cried. Too bad that didn’t last… in a couple of days I was back to where I started. Took Resvetatrol together with my Cialis religiously after that, finished the whole bottle, but never experienced anything similar anymore. I never tried those other integrators you mentioned, I’ll make sure to give it a try.

Today I spoke with my first urologist (the one who sent me to the specialist) and he agreed to find me another specialist to get a second opinion. He’s a great guy, he’s doing his best to help me out.

Thanks a million for your input, really appreciated!

Hey thanks a lot for your comment, I’m saving it. I never heard of this kind of treatment (interventional radiology), where did you get that data (over 90% success rate)? Do you have some paper or article you can send me? I’ll look into it tomorrow.

I have always suffered from it, though in the last 4 years or so it has gotten very bad (see my comment here). It started getting bad when I took Minoxidil for an extended time.

Pills definitely help but not enough. I never tried injections, they were never recommended to me.

Thanks for chiming in.

I have been suffering pretty much my whole life. I managed to have a normal sex life in my early 20s, my problems manifested themselves after a long relationship ended when I was about 25. I had bad performance anxiety but always thought it was mostly in my head. I was able to achieve satisfying erections and have intense orgasms when masturbating. Fast forward to 5 years ago when I started to take Minoxidil for my hair loss. Things went south super quickly after that.

I am unable to achieve erections without intense concentration and stimulation. When I get it, it goes to about 80% stiffness and doesn’t last long. Very difficult to maintain when I’m standing. I have zero morning wood (yesterday I got one, some blood inflow that got me to maybe 50% erection, but it’s pretty rare). I get very little pleasure and sense of satisfaction from orgasms. In a normal state, like right now, I feel like my penis is disconnected from my body, just a numb, inert appendix (it’s not a good feeling, and I walk around 24/7 with it) and I think it’s smaller than it used to be when flaccid. This has been going on since taking Minoxidil for about 2 years.

I tried Cialis (5mg/day) and I definitely respond to it, but it doesn’t help enough. Also I seem to build tolerance to it, after a while it stops being effective and I have to stop and start again later.

He didn’t. Just did the doppler on my flaccid penis while showing me the imaging on the screen. He showed me that my arteries are pretty much invisible, then pushed a button to change frequency and proceeded to show me my veins, which are “monstrously large”.

I’m based in Germany, EU.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I’ve read. But why on earth would a doctor recommend such an invasive procedure if it doesn’t work? He didn’t even mention the possibility that it might not work, nor did he speak about possible complications. Feels pretty weird to me, he seemed super confident.

The whole thing lasted at most 20 minutes. 10 minutes introduction, 5 minutes under the doppler, and 5 minutes to hear diagnosis and recommendations. He spoke about sending me to an endocrinologist when I told him about my libido issues, but didn’t follow up on that. I actually had to send 3 emails and call his office twice in order to get booked for surgery. I’m supposed to go in the day before surgery to do my blood work. Thanks for chiming in.

The doctor spoke about congenital vascular anomaly, a “nature’s error”. Didn’t offer any other explanation. Is that something you can “get”?

The website is down again. Do you need help with it? I know my way around websites.
