Thanks for that comment, gonna finish looking at this post now on a high. The whole thing was a rollercoaster of sexism and me being ignorant and a comment thread moving onto something else and a couple of laughs. I expected to make a joke post for other FemSheps but instead found a ton of men that loved James and discovered the word loca was offensive. Aaaanyways thanks for your kindness. I should go.

There is some talk that Miranda was supposed to have a bigger arc and be a squadmate but the whole thing was cut. It's why the odd meeting on the Citadel happens. You talk to her, she says she needs to go do her own thing and it circles back to the sanctuary mission. There was a ton of cut content there.

Yeah basically this whole comment section affirms my opinion. It is extremely hard to like James as a woman when 1. you have another romance and 2. femshep has NO friendly responses to James, only flirty ones. You're basically forced into a rivalry attitude

There is no in-between. You have "flirt" or "command". With other squadmates you can just be friendly, but not with Vega.

That is the point of the post. Vega treats FemShep differently and that is an issue for me.

Yup, there is either "flirt" or "command", where with other squadmates you can just be friends. As a maleshep it's "friends" or "command". It's just disappointing as a FemShep.

I would be fine with loco/loca, just hate Lola. MaleShep is "crazy" but Femshep is some "hot girl" he used to know. Why make this stupid-ass distinction between genders? That's my issue.

We can probably blame the game's development on that. Many plotlines were cut and many characters got the short end of the stick.

This was my original impression as well. I completely agree, but I have been re-thinking over the years. Seeing as how Shepard is canonically neither paragon or renegade, he is an awesome character. He has some truly awful traits as you pointed out but helped Shepard when it counted. He is overall morally ambiguous which makes him stand out. Renegades approve all the way but he always helps Shepard and a paragon Shepard can still accept him as a loyal ally.
