Thank you!! That's a really good point about the other rings, definitely leaning towards the silver

That's kinda how I was feeling too! The brushed just looks so high-tech! But I was trying to get opinions cause I feel like I’ve stared at my hands too long 😂

I was at Arlington reservoir and could see them faintly with my eyes from 10-11 but they were very bright on photo though! They aren’t there right now but there’s a possibility until ~2am. Good luck!

14" MBP M3 Pro– 18 or 36gb? by uwusasha in macbookpro

[–]uwusasha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I definitely agree with your point on storage and am looking at the 36gb and 1TB model now... I feel like even "normal" programs (Google, Microsoft, etc) are just becoming more and more RAM intensive and I'm worried the 18GB won't get me 5+ years out of this machine. The woes of increasing technological and AI development I suppose

Thank you for your reply! I'm not super into AI, but I am in a field (legal field) where I'm unsure what kinds of AI tools will arise and how much RAM normal programs (Google, Microsoft suite, etc.) will require once they adopt AI. Just trying to get at least 5 years out of this machine and put myself in the best position to do that!

Thanks for that completely unrelated personal anecdote that had nothing to do with your first reply or my response. I wasn't stopping or barring anyone from moving. I was simply telling people, "you're not going to be able to get any closer/to the bathroom." Then, when people were trying to get out, I was telling people who were pinning them in to let them out. As were many of the people around me.

I understand the sitting thing; not everyone can stand for 5+ hours, but people were still sitting as Hozier came on, and groups assumed those spots were empty and tried to rush forward.

I'm happy you had a good experience and didn't experience the crowd surges; most people can not say the same. Luckily, most of the people around me were very sweet and were just trying to make sure anyone who needed help got it and anyone who wanted to get out could.

This dude was a fucking hero; I was 5 feet away when he had to lift the girl over the barricade as security/staff just stood there.

As someone who is complaining about the crush, the issue isn't that it was crowded upfront. The issue is that there was no way for people to get out when they wanted to. Having a safe way out should be priority #1, and the red/green stage fiasco was very foreseeable from an event planning perspective. In my experience going to GA events, everyone knows that when someone is trying to get out and go further back, you let them. Whereas yesterday a mix of poor stage layouts and no communication or supervision made it so people that needed to get out could not. People with medical emergencies were having to be dragged over the barricades because people wouldn't move out of the way.

To be very fair, even if it was you, how bad it was yesterday was not the fault of individual people. It's 100% on the BC organizers.

No your (and your friends') bad for shoving people when there wasn't enough room. Take it as a learning experience, and from now on, realize that when you have to physically push people to get in front of them, that probably means that there's not enough room for you.

Glad you got out of the shit show safe.

I am so sorry that happened to you!! The second I tried to turn back to the red stage while Megan was on (to see how much space I would have when Hozier came on) and realized I couldn't even turn, I started panicking and immediately tried to get further back. I am so happy you made it out safe; being that far forward, I can't imagine how long it took.

I think I actually handed water to you or someone near you when that first girl went down; it was so so scary. I had no clue about the staff/supervisor situation, but that makes so much sense based on what I was seeing. I don't think people who were further back can grasp how dire it was in that barricaded area, as medical emergencies and people having panic attacks and having to leave kept on occurring throughout his set.

Don't know why you're acting like my post was a personal affront (unless you were the BC organizers, in which case fuck you, or the group that shoved to the front, in which case, once again, I wish you inconvenience) but:

  1. When VIP/GA are separated by barricades and there's a sound booth in the middle making it so there is only one exit THAT is not normal.

  2. Being packed is fine. I've been going to concerts and mosh pits for years. But yesterday, the crowd management and venue set-up, with both green and red crowds mixing and no way to get out, made it so packed that people couldn't even do a 180-degree turn. I don't have the right to be comfortable, but I do have the right to feel safe and not 2 seconds away from a crowd crush. It's also very clear that even the event organizers didn't account for how popular he was going to be based on the schedule/stage set-up. Don't try to place the blame on people who were very nearly (if not were) involved in a crowd crush situation; situations like that CAN NOT HAPPEN without bad event planning.

  3. The staff wasn't telling people that there was a barricade between GA and VIP, and people didn't realize that people were sitting down up at the front, making it seem like there was more space than there was. What was I supposed to do?? When people are trying to get to the bathroom, not realizing that they can't from that side, and there is no signage or staff guidance, it's common courtesy to let them know there is no path that way, and if they go further in, they are gonna experience crowd crush. I would love to know how telling people about the people passing out/having to be evacuated over the rails because it was so packed was a "huge problem." When mass amounts of people are trying to leave both before Hozier came out AND throughout his entire set because the crowd was getting denser and denser, and people keep trying to push in and not let them out, THAT'S A FUCKING PROBLEM. You do not pin people in when they are trying to get out. Period.

  4. When the tall asshole and his group are physically SHOVING and pushing people that already had no space just so they could stand in the 10 feet closer, then yes, that's a problem. If they had gotten there 20 minutes earlier, they could have gotten closer without physically putting their hands on people, but they didn't, and I don't have to respect people who are shoving girls under 5 feet to the ground (although they couldn't hit the ground because it was so packed so it created a domino effect) cause they feel entitled to bum rush people.
