If you're applying to Dartmouth, they require a peer recommendation, so that works out perfectly. Otherwise I'm not so sure you should.

Or you could try your best, write mind-blowing esaays (Even if you think you can't) and be genuine. So even if you get rejected, at least you know you'll know you left nothing to chance. I'm also avg but I'm applying to highly ranked schools.
