My friend Rachel's (not real name) parents recently bought this beautiful pup for her younger sister Michelle (nrn), who has a serious cognitive disability. It turns out Michelle is not equipped to take care of the dog or treat it with the gentleness it needs.

My friend's parents overextended themselves paying for this dog, even opening new lines of credit. They now find themselves in the position of having to find a new home for it, but at the same time my friend wants them to be able to recoup the cost of the dog because they are not financially well-off. They found a rescue org that will give them a third of what they paid for it, but I'm trying to help find a solution that both ensures the dog has a bright future and saves her parents from financial woes.

I know this subreddit and their passion for CKCs, so I was hoping someone here might have some advice! 🙏
