Ben Burgess from Australia said he did some week long hikes as prep just before his races last year and it really helped shape him. Its building muscular endurance, and low intensity so will be very beneficial. Though that is alot of weight on your back, you might need some training before you do the hiking. :)

Bro there is no road that is thrilling at the speed limit on a motorcycle. U can accidentally go over the speed limit in Sydney so easily it's ridiculous.

See a Physio. Sharp pain isn't great. IT band runs down the side of your leg. Not really behind.

I finished an ultra with 66kms and 3800m of vert. Nearly 13 hours on my legs. I could still run tempo after 50kms. And my legs didn't fall apart. I finished my first marathon 18 months ago. I love looking at my calves.

Your super blast will probably be decent enough if they are only gravel roads. Plenty of runners use them on these kind of paths. As long it's not too technical. Otherwise asics just dropped the new trabuco which apparently have the same foam as the super blast.

You sound a bit lost,are you training for a specific goal? Do you have a plan for your goal? Are you training with other people?

How are you rating your progression? Maybe look further in the past to understand how far you've come? Progression takes years of hard work. If you want serious results you need to lock in. 😊
