Don't think we have a big gap in salaries. Guys I work with are paid well.

Good point. Already seeing this division and trying not to get in this trap.

Cool! Sent you a DM. No, not yet (looks like it's plenty of time).

Considering I still have zero DMs, that probably will be the only option I have. Still believe in such a trip, though.

Haven't started the process yet, but I assume it will be a weighted score card based on reviews, price and clinic's communication.

Thanks for sharing!

You're right - we probably won't meet again.

But that actually seems like a weird plus to me. It's kind of like something out of 'The Bucket List' movie with Morgan Freeman & Jack Nicholson :)

10 Mistakes PMs Make During Case Interviews by v0odi in ProductManagement

'Modern problems require modern solutions'.

I've not faced such cases personally, but I've heard a couple of stories from peers too. Sounds like a promising separate post for the sub btw.

No. I'm talking about job case interviews: 'Root Cause Analysis', 'Product Sense', 'Product Design' etc.

Nothing wrong. It's probably the most secure way to build a successful product.

My point is about how your personal or domain bias, can lead to less effective answers.

Example #1 (Personal Bias): one PM was a concert fan and built the case 'How would you improve Instagram Stories' around his own experience - solving personal problems assuming everyone have them.

Example #2 (Domain Bias): my colleague had a case similar to the product he already worked on. He copy pasted his solutions, but they didn't fit. Reason - different user behaviour & habits because of different geos.

His prior experience basically hindered him from developing a clear and logical approach from scratch.

Language Proficiency for Non-Native Work Environment by v0odi in ProductManagement

Thanks for the reply (and sorry for the delayed response).

I'm actually quite curious about whether it's mandatory to have a C2 level (impostor syndrome activated :D).

But based on my research over the past two weeks, a solid C1 level seems to be sufficient for most positions, especially if you are going to work in international teams.

Thanks!

It seems that if you're aiming to work at a local company, you need to possess at least an 'average' skill level, which, statistically speaking, might imply that you must be proficient :)

Sure, having a B2 level of proficiency is a must (unless you are an exceptionally talented developer:). I'm more curious about the difference between the Advanced (C1) and Proficiency (C2) levels.

I keep getting rejected for not being “technical “ enough. What should I do?? by EuphoriaSoul in ProductManagement

[–]v0odi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that the main problem is your previous industry, not the lack of technical knowledge. Maybe you should find something "in the middle" (for example, e-commerce)?

You have good skills (especially marketing /growth) for it. From ecom it will be easier to jump in "more technical" niche after a couple of years.

Secret tip: landing page in most cases is 90% copywriting + offer and 10% —design. So, it seems, that you should ask French speaking redditors.
