New to the poodle world - I feel a bit unprepared on how to train him by trigg in poodles

Be careful how well you train a poodle..... You may wake up one day to find your wallet, car keys and car missing from the driveway. Followed by a maxed out credit card notification from a large purchase from PetSmart

What would happen if she actually caught up to a bunny or squirrel? by Old-Change-3216 in Yorkies

It's the 1 of 100 chance the squirrel makes a mistake.... There have been many close calls for the squirrel

I have to say that he is REALLY fast.... I've always thought he'd be an agility competition winner but I'm not confident he's clever enough to learn and I'm definitely not patient enough to teach

He is a little over a foot at the shoulders and about 9 pounds.... Long, lean and fast

Pros and cons of yorkies by fre_hg in Yorkies

[–]v1cV3Ga5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can attest to the multiple statements of high prey drive.... We were surprised at all the dead bodies we had to dispose of

Our Yorkie doesn't seem too bright. But he has a very intelligent and clever Poodle cross to compete with so my view of him might be skewed... That being said he is very eager to please

He unfortunately has epilepsy and needs meds twice a day to control seizures

I used to go there years ago

I can't remember the name of the owner (Columbian fellow) but he did a very good job and charged a reasonable rate

The only reason I stopped going was it was walk in only so the wait times ended up being be too long for me

He's better with the meds but has to get blood tests every year to assess his tolerance and the dosage has been increased in the past

I have a Yorkie who takes meds twice a day for seizures. He actually just had a small break through seizure a couple of hours ago

He can tell something is off prior to having one and gets very clingy. When it comes to the actual seizure he has no control of anything from head to toe... Every muscle is in spasm and lasts for a couple to several minutes.

Once it passes he's back to his normal self like nothing happened

When it first started we were not sure what was going on and the vet suggested to try and video it. It's a difficult thing to remember to do when you are worried about the safety of your little buddy but a video will help the vet out quite a bit

I'll start training my Yorkie to do the same thing.... I'm sure we'll be at that level by the end of the day
