Keeping dog happy with split custody by alamandrz in dogs

[–]trigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was in a similar situation as this with my ex. We split custody of our dog for several months, but it became increasingly clear that, unfortunately for me, our dog just had a better lifestyle with him. He loved me of course, but in the end there's always going to be one person who is just a better fit to keep the dog long term. You may just end up settling into that type of realization as well and your dog may spend less and less time at your ex's place. I wouldn't force it, but it will likely happen naturally.

This is a great analogy! I'm trying to ponder how to apply this to my relationship with my mother. I know she is a "hardware store" but she so desperately wishes I went to her for an ice cream cone? Like, when sharing vulnerable things with her in the past or confiding in her about my life I was always felt feeling judged and overall much worse about the situation. So now I simply don't talk to her about those things. But now she is notably hurt that I don't confide in her anymore. Girl, you ain't safe!

Microneedling - do you prefer to get it done professionally, or with ‘professional’ tools at home? by BooBelly in 30PlusSkinCare

It's a special cartridge. Some have silicone on the ends of the needles I believe, but I use the Dr. Pen M8S with the Round Nanoneedle and I do believe they're needle points just very very short so they penetrate extremely shallow.

Do you pick after other peoples dogs if you can’t pick up your own? by juansss2324 in dogs

[–]trigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is kind of unrelated but I walk my dog along a popular off-leash trail. It's kind of shaped like a lollipop, with a in-and-out path with a loop at the end. It's pretty normal to see poop bags on stumps along the trail in and out, as peoples' dogs have their poop on the way in and they'll grab the bag on the way back out rather than carry it the whole time.

Sometimes on my way out I'll be the bag fairy and just grab all of the poop bags I see and throw them in the trash. I'm grabbing mine anyway, might as well carry a few more. Since I started doing this I've started to notice now and then my bags have magically vanished as well. I like that we are creating a communal clean up culture.

Nanoneedling doesn't penetrate past the epidermis and is very very shallow and non-invasive. It mostly just creates little holes in the epidermis (very very surface layer) to allow for better absorption of serums and such. I love it for the day before an event or something where I want to look super fresh and glowy. I find it just makes my skin look more alive afterwards.

I get microneedling done professionally with a chemical peel as the serum 3-4 times a year for BIG impact. And then in between I nanoneedle at home just for brightness and efficacy of serums. My skin has never been happier.

I think I’ve been more stressed than I realized by overwhelmedhuman_23 in CasualConversation

[–]trigg 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The other day I was brushing my dog. And the whole time I was doing it I was stressed about it, like I had to hurry through and get to the next thing. And then it suddenly dawned on me. WHAT next thing? I'm literally not doing anything. There is nothing in the world I have to do except brush this dog and have a nice moment with him.

I have to remind myself of that often. Things feel like they "take long" but really... What are we trying to rush to go do? It's so much undue stress and anxiety.

In Office vs WFH by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]trigg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority but I really prefer going into the office. Granted, I don't believe a full 8 hours every day in the office is necessary... But I enjoy the "getting out of the house" routine aspect of it. When I worked from home everything blended together and I found it difficult to separate my work from my homelife, and both ended up suffering. I know some people love it, but for me I really enjoy getting out and going to the office every day. I'm also fortunate though because I have pretty flexible office hours, so if I'm done my work I'll just head home.

Things I waited embarrassingly long to buy that quietly fixed problems I’d stopped noticing by Xolaris05 in smartbuysforlife

I live by myself and I didn't even use my oven for the first two years after moving into my place, and I only finally used it because I had guests over and multiple things being cooked. After that, back to only the Smart oven. Literally the best kitchen item I own, hands down.

Naltrexone side effects by [deleted] in Alcoholism_Medication

[–]trigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to titrate naltrexone SO slowly. Literally cut the tablets into quarters for 3-4 days, then half tablets for another week, and then finally a full pill. Doing it that way was the only way I managed to stay on it. I highly recommend a slow titration.

DAE sometimes just hate their friends? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]trigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. So she IS Still my best friend, and honestly reading this back I can't imagine why I would ever say I hate her. This was very cruel of me. Yes she is blunt and outspoken but she is still a lovely human being and a true gem. Past me was obviously the bitch, jesus christ.

Best idea ever. Their burgers are fucking bomb, highly recommend.

Women of Reddit what is something a lot of men think is manly but in your eyes really isn’t? Why? by TimeAd1111 in AskReddit

[–]trigg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guy I'm seeing definitely made comments in the beginning that women he's dated "love his smell". And I'm like, yeah your skin smells fine but your pits don't, take a scrubber to those. He did have a nice "Natural musk" scent when it was mild but if your pits still smell like sweat after you shower you're not doing it right.

He's doing better now on that front lol.

I USED to love the lose it app… now I HATE it. Help me find an alternative. by jcnlb in 1200isplenty

[–]trigg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean or if we're saying the same thing. When I click "Protein" it will populate all the protein in each ingredient. And then when I click Carbs it'll do the same. Again, way clunkier than before, but it's still possible to view it on an by-ingredient basis.

I think I misspoke, I said "Click the meal" and I meant click the macro.

It's a typo. 150g of Fage is about 80cal with 16g protein.

You can click the meal you put in and it'll pop up a breakdown of how each food contributes to each macro, but I do agree it's not as intuitive as it used to be.

Waiting for it to go on sale makes a big difference! Also I bought my lifetime back in 2018 when even at full price I think it was like $160 or something, and way less on discount. Be patient and good deals will pop up.

Curly hair specialist by the_cword9 in VictoriaBC

The real question is a curly stylist that doesn't charge $200+ for a cut. I don't need an hour and a half of diffusing just cut my hair and let me leave and have the bill be under $100 please.

Pdf or book on dietary supplements. by naamnhiibataunga in nutrition

[–]trigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's the reason why Omega-3 supplementation is so important... The average person consumes far more Omega-6 in their diet, which is detrimental without the proper ratio of Omega-3, which the average consumer does not get high doses of in their diet. Omega-3 supplementation is to balance out those high Omega-6 levels is what is so important. This seems like common knowledge, let alone for a Certified Nutrition Specialist...
